Whole Foods Market Short Pump is your community store, supporting hundreds of local charitable community organizations, non-profits, and schools each year through direct donations, in-kind donations, and volunteer time.
Our team members are part of the local community and they are passionate about supporting the local causes that are important to our shoppers and neighbors.
Our first priority is to work with local food banks to ensure the basic need of nourishment is taken care of for all of our neighbors.
Then several times a year, our stores hold community giving days (otherwise known as “5% Days”) where five percent of that day’s net sales are donated to a local nonprofit or educational organization. The groups that benefit from these 5% Days are as varied as the communities themselves. In addition to 5% days, our store also selects two local non-profits a quarter to support through our Nickles for Non-Profits program. Last but not least, team members are constantly volunteering their time and expertise to an assortment of local non-profits.
We encourage our local charitable organizations to reach out to us for support of their events and fundraising campaigns. We kindly ask that donations requests fall within the following categories:
Whole Foods Market Short Pump holds a 5% Day quarterly on which 5% of total sales is donated to a local charitable organization. Our 5% days also provides us with the opportunity support a local non-profit and partner with them for a hands-on project or upcoming community event. Upcoming 5% days are announced on our social media outlets, on our store’s event calendar, as well as through signage throughout the store.
Are you a local non-profit interested in this program? If applying for a 5% day, please include on your application suggestions of how a Whole Foods Market volunteer group of 10-15 individuals could support your organization with a specific project. Click HERE to apply for a 5% Day. In the "event" field of the application, please put "5% Day, month." For the event description, list how you would use these funds.
Whole Foods Market Short Pump supports two local nonprofit organizations quarterly through the Nickels for Nonprofits program. At check-out, customers who use a reusable bag can donate their bag refund to one of the two local non-profits selected for the quarter. Our goal is not only to raise funds, but also to expose customers to wide array of local non-profits area.

Please note: Whole Foods Market accepts donation requests from local non-profit organizations with 501 (c) (3) status. Applications can take 8 - 12 weeks to process.

Due to the sheer volume of requests and community support granted, last-minute and/or incomplete applications cannot be reviewed.
