A Salute to Bacon

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Simply put, everything is better with bacon. Bacon is salty, savory and satisfying, and even just a little bit goes a long way to adding smoky succulence to all sorts of dishes, from appetizer to dessert. In this class, we’ll discuss bacon around the world, how bacon is made, how to cook it to perfection, and how to get the biggest bang for your bacon buck at the Whole Foods Market meat counter (where sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite are not allowed). Additional lessons included in this class are how to work with wild mushrooms, how to make crock-pot bacon jam and how to turn bacon into candy. Class has gluten-free options upon request, has hands on opportunities as desired. On the menu:

  • Tartines with Fresh Tomatoes and BACON JAM
  • Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Bundles
  • Sweet Corn and Wild Mushroom Soup with Bacon
  • Fresh Pasta with Bacon Baked Leeks and Creamy Blue Cheese
  • Individual Peach Crisps with Candied Bacon
