The Whole Scoop - What's Happening at Halsted in February!

It's February, and at Whole Foods Market at Halsted and Waveland, we are focusing on the heart of things this month!  We'll be celebrating Valentine's Day this year with a free Spa Event on February 14th, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Stop on by and celebrate the holiday by pampering the person you love the most - yourself!  And, this February's Wellness Workshop with Swedish Covenant Hospital will be take place on Sunday, February 21st, in our Culinary Classroom, and will school you in all you need to know to be Heart Smart!  February at Whole Foods Market is also a chance to give from the heart, as we kick off our annual Whole Planet Foundation Prosperity Campaign on Wednesday, February 17th.  To learn more about the Whole Planet Foundation, visit their website here. 

An easy way to give back? It's in the bag!

Whole Foods Market at Halsted and Waveland is proud to be a part of the One Dime at a Time program!  When you bring back your own bags to be re-used to pack up your order, we give you a dime for each bag that is used.  Beginning January 1st and running through March 31st, we are giving you the opportunity to donate those dimes to a local non-profit, Level Playing Field. 

The mission of Level Playing Field is to provide scholarships and supportive services to students who, because of economic hardships, find it difficult to pursue the relevant skills and education necessary for equal opportunity in the workplace.  They believe that by providing financial assistance, individuals will become empowered to develop their true potential and meet the challenges of the 21^st century workplace with intelligence, competency of skills, and practical knowledge.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for your continued support of our One Dime at a Time program, and for the phenomenal contribution you have made to previous One Dime at a Time recipients.  In the month of October alone, Halsted and Waveland shoppers donated an incredible $1,314.00 in bag refunds, which went to benefit Connections for Abused Women and their Children!  That's 13,140 bags that were re-used in one month! 

Donating your bag refunds is a double dose of give-back goodness - by re-using your own bags and giving back the green you save, you help keep our planet green and our communities thriving!  So, from the bottom of our green hearts, thank you!
