An easy way to give back? It's in the bag!

Whole Foods Market at Halsted and Waveland is proud to be a part of the One Dime at a Time program!  When you bring back your own bags to be re-used to pack up your order, we give you a dime for each bag that is used.  Beginning this month and running through December, we are giving you the opportunity to donate those dimes to a local non-profit, Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC).  CAWC works to end domestic violence by providing services to the Chicagoland community, including a 24-hour hotline for victims of domestic violence, a shelter for women and children, and counseling and advocacy for those affected by domestic violence.  To learn more about CAWC and their amazing efforts, please visit their website here.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for your continued support of our One Dime at a Time program, and for the phenomenal contribution you have made to previous One Dime at a Time recipients.  In the month of August alone, Halsted and Waveland shoppers donated an incredible $1,282.80 in bag refunds, which went to benefit PAWS Chicago!  That's 12,828 bags that were re-used in one month! 

Donating your bag refunds is a double dose of give-back goodness - by re-using your own bags and giving back the green you save, you help keep our planet green and our communities thriving!  So, from the bottom of our green hearts, thank you!
