Whole Foods Market® and Wild Oats Markets® are merging to better serve our shoppers who are seeking the very best in natural and organic products in a second-to-none shopping environment.
Why merge?
We are committed to improving upon the already unparalleled level of service, amazing selection and attention to detail. By joining the strengths of two natural and organic foods pioneers, we see an opportunity to deliver a wider selection and a more robust, authentic shopping experience. Both companies are thrilled to come together to satisfy and delight our shoppers and offer a broader selection of products at lower prices, thanks to increased buying power. We also will be able to expand and provide the very best in natural and organic products in new neighborhoods and marketplaces at a faster pace.
What will be different?
We expect that over time, you will see some great products and services currently offered in the Wild Oats stores make their way into Whole Foods Market stores and vice versa as a result of combining the best of both companies. Also, the Wild Oats Markets stores will eventually be re-named Whole Foods Market.
Of course, some things will not change at all like our friendly one-on-one customer service, our unwavering commitment to caring for our communities and the planet, and our focus on strengthening our relationships with local and global vendor partners and producers.
What's next?
As specific store financial information was not available before the merger was completed, no definite decisions regarding any store closings or relocations have been made. Over the next several months, we will be carefully evaluating each store location and market, and we will announce any changes to our customers and Team Members as soon as possible. Beyond that, we will be working on plans to best serve our communities while making the right business decisions that positively impact our shoppers, Team Members, investors, vendor partners, producers, communities and the environment. |
