Pierre Sparr Gewurztraminer, 750mL
Description
Alsace, France
Pierre Sparr’s enticing Gewurztraminer is grown from 30-year-old vines rooted in granitic, chalky-clay soil. After gentle-pressing, the must is fermented at low temperature in stainless-steel tanks and malolactic conversion is avoided
Maison Pierre Sparr was established by the Sparr family in 1680 in the desirable Haut Rhin. Today quality remains Pierre Sparr’s primary focus and the winery consistently exceeds AOC (Appellation Alsace Controlee) guidelines.
Featuring golden color, this wine offers an inviting aromatic palette of baking spices, flowers and tropical fruit. A full-bodied wine with rich, mouth-filling character that maintains its freshness and encourages another sip.
When it comes to pairing food with wine, Alsatian gewurztraminer is a superstar. It's served locally with the pungent cheese, Munster, but goes equally well with blue cheese as well as hard, salty cheeses such as aged gouda.
