Ghoulishly Good Halloween Candy

By Elizabeth Smith, October 10, 2013  |  Meet the Blogger  |  More Posts by Elizabeth Smith

As a child, a night of trick or treating typically ended in a monster game of trading candy with my siblings. As a mom of two, I’m still trading up when it comes to candy though now I’m swapping frightful mysterious ingredients for choices I feel good about.

Are you looking for treats, not tricks, this Halloween? Have no fear, Whole Foods Market® carries mummy-approved candy and treats that live up to the high quality standards of all our products. That means there are no hydrogenated fats and artificial preservatives, colors and flavors lurking in these treats.

Here are five of my favorites to have at the ready this Halloween:

Surf Sweets Spooky Spiders
Made with organic sweeteners, these wiggly gummy spiders come in great tasting blueberry, cherry, lime and tangerine flavors, and there’s 100% vitamin C per serving. These scrumptious spiders are made in a nut-free facility*; plus, a portion of their proceeds benefits 1% for the Planet.

Fun Tip: Spooky Spiders are also great for decorating Halloween cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

Surf Sweets Fruity Bears
Available in a trick or treat 20-pack, Surf Sweet’s organic Non-GMO Project verified bears are fruity, sweet and irresistibly fun for little cubs. Made with 100% of vitamin C per serving, they’re made in a nut-free facility, so if you’re afraid of nuts, these are for you.*

Mini Glee Gum Variety Pack

This pack contains a convenient assortment of 21 boxes with four pieces of gum per box in tangerine, triple berry and bubblegum. Made without aspartame, it’s a fair trade chewing gum perfect for parties and gift bags. Plus, it’s packaged in biodegradable cellophane and recycled and recyclable cardboard.

Justin’s Peanut Butter Cups

Dark Chocolate or Milk Chocolate

Are you already a fan of Justin’s nut butters? Well, you’re in for a treat. Organic peanut butter + organic fair trade chocolate = peanut butter cup perfection. There are 10-individually wrapped cups in each bag at only 80 calories a cup. Sweet!

Annie’s Halloween Bunny Grahams

Lil’ ghosts and goblins (and their parents) love these honey and chocolate whole grain graham cookies. Made with organic wheat flour in the shape of an adorable bunny, this seasonal bag contains 24 individual treat packs. What are you waiting for? Hop to it!

What will you hand out this Halloween?
