Two More Ways for Little Earthlings to Play

Looking for more? See our earlier post on two easy ways to make every day Earth Day with your kids.

Get Scrappy with Your Recycle Bin

Whole Kids Foundation® partners with ScrapKins creator Brian Yanish, art educator and former member of Jim Henson’s creative team, to bring your kids a hands-on eco art craft every month. Check out our current and past projects on Pinterest.

Each project starts at the recycle bin! (Remember the “DIY Seed Starters” from March?) These kitchen-table crafts are easy to follow and feature step-by-step illustrated instructions.

You’ll be amazed at how receptive kids are to new conversations about healthy choices when the right and left sides of their brains are engaged – the perfect time to ask some “Think About It” questions. Every ScrapKins project includes sample questions to help start a conversation about healthy choices, like: “What foods do you eat that have packaging you can recycle?”

Build a recycling truck with this special Earth Month-inspired project and witness the power of creative learning!

Be Awesome with Awesome Eats!

Have you downloaded Whole Kids Foundation’s app for iPhone/iPad yet? Awesome Eats is a FREE game that will have your kids sorting and stacking all kinds of fruits and veggies. Some parents have told us that after playing kids requested veggies to eat that they usually avoid!

This month we’re releasing new game sections all about recycling to help kids sort, stack and bin items that are recyclable, compostable and trash. Parents may even learn some things they thought were garbage are actually recyclable! Get the free app now.
