Spread butter on the outside of both slices of bread. Spread the opposite side of one slice of bread with mustard and arrange apple slices on top. Add cheese and top with second slice of bread. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add sandwich and cook, turning once, until golden brown and cheese is melted. Transfer to a plate and serve.
