Asian-Style Lettuce Wraps

Surround your serving platter with plenty of whole lettuce leaves. Your guests will wrap each leaf around their choice of fillings, then dip in the sweet and spicy hoisin sauce.

Ingredients

    1 tablespoonolive, peanut or sesame oil
    1 poundground turkey or chicken
    2 clovesgarlic, finely chopped
    2 tablespoonsfinely chopped fresh ginger
    2/3 cupteriyaki sauce
    Vegetables for filling: grated carrots, mung bean sprouts, sliced radish, julienned cucumber
    Boston lettuce leaves, rinsed and dried
    3 tablespoonshoisin sauce
    1 cupmushrooms, thinly sliced
    1/2 mediumcarrot, cut into julienne or thin strips
    1 mediumcelery stalk, thinly sliced

Method

Heat oil in a large skillet; add ground turkey and mushrooms and cook until turkey is browned and no pink remains.


Add carrot, celery, garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant.


Add teriyaki sauce and simmer for 10 minutes while preparing vegetables.


Place filling and vegetables in center of a large platter, then surround with lettuce leaves.


Serve with hoisin sauce for dipping.
