This dip is equally delicious when served slightly chilled or at room temperature. To serve, arrange raw vegetables like celery sticks, cucumber slices and whole radishes on a plate for dipping.

Combine basil and garlic in a food processor and process to a fine purée.
With machine running, add oil in a thin-steady stream.
Stir in salt, cover and chill for 2 to 4 hours.
Stir in sour cream and toasted pine nuts.
