Prepare a grill for medium heat cooking.
Combine beef, chiles, cheddar and salt in a large bowl and form into four (4-inch) patties.
Brush with oil and grill, flipping once, until cooked to your liking, 8 to 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, stir adobo sauce into mayonnaise until blended and set aside.
Serve burgers on buns with lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayonnaise.
