Herb and Asiago Toasts

Serve these crisp toasts on the side of a plate of pasta or a big, green salad. Or arrange them on a platter with sliced fruit and cheese as an appetizer, too.

  • 4 thick slices country bread
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (such as chives and oregano)
  • 4 ounces Asiago fresco, thinly sliced

Method

Grill or toast bread until it gets just barely crisp on the outside. 

Rub all over with garlic and drizzle with oil. 

Sprinkle with fresh herbs, top with slices of Asiago and serve.
