Sweet, fragrant cherries and strawberries with effervescent lambrusco wine and tart lemon soda make for a tingly summer sparkler. Plan ahead to let the fruit soak overnight for a more robust flavor.
- 1 (750-ml) bottle lemon Italian soda chilled
- 8 ounces cherries pitted and quartered
- 8 ounces strawberries hulled and sliced
- 1 (750-ml) bottle lambrusco wine
Put 1 cup of the wine in a large pitcher with cherries and strawberries and crush the fruit using a wooden spoon to release the juices. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, stir in Italian soda and remaining wine and pour over ice.
