Oven Fries

Serves 4
Time 40 min
These simple fries are delicious for big and small kids alike. If you don't want spicy fries, omit the chili powder and sprinkle with a bit of sweet paprika instead to add some color.
Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 pound Russet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Method

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Cut potatoes into quarters lengthwise, then cut into 1/4-inch thick wedges. Place in a large bowl and thoroughly coat with olive oil and chili powder, if using.

Place potatoes on two large rimmed baking sheets in a single layer. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake until cooked through and golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes.
