Teriyaki Pineapple Burgers
Serves 4
Time 2 hr 25 min
Serve these burgers on a large platter, topped with your favorite fresh salsa. Alternately, serve them on toasted whole wheat buns, topped with lettuce and sliced red onions.
Special Diets:
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup prepared teriyaki sauce
- 1/2 cup candied pineapple, roughly chopped
- 1 medium red bell pepper, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 pound ground pork
Method
In a medium bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, pineapple, bell pepper, salt and pepper.
Add pork and gently bring the ingredients together with your hands; do not over-work the meat.
With dampened hands, form pork mixture into 4 patties of even thickness, or make 6 smaller patties, if desired.
Transfer patties to a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Prepare a grill for medium heat cooking.
Grill patties, flipping once, until browned and cooked through, about 6 minutes per side.
