Method

Put watermelon in a blender and mash with a wooden spoon to release some of the juice.

Puree until smooth. (You will have about 2 1/2 cups.)

Pour watermelon puree through a fine-mesh strainer set over a large bowl.

Let drain, without stirring, until you have about 1 cup juicy pulp in the strainer.

Save watermelon juice for a parent’s treat and serve watermelon pulp to your little one.

The puree will keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

(Suggested age: 6 months and up)
