Our Whole Foods Market Lincoln Park Cooking Classroom is on a mission to bring back and elevate home cooking in Chicago! We believe in teaching cooking classes for all skill levels; helping you make real food with ease, confidence, and passion. Our talented team of Cooking Specialists and Guest Chef’s offer weekly hands-on cooking classes for adults and children of all cooking comfort levels.

Thursday October 3rd  @7p | Hands-On | 2 ½ hour class | $40

It is never too late to learn to cook and it is our mission to make sure you have the opportunity! Come join our Cooking At Home Specialist, Sarah, as she teaches you all the skills needed to successfully make sauces, dressings and marinades at home.  All skills welcomed.  Participants will be learning how to make roux for three classic sauces:  brown (gravy), red (tomato) and mornay (cheese).  We will also make an authentic curry, an Asian dipping sauce, a vinaigrette and discuss the science behind marinating.   Come hungry because you will be eating your creations throughout the class.  Class includes samples and take home recipe cards. Join Sarah, our Cooking At Home Specialists, as she shows you the simple knife techniques needed for prepping produce beyond slicing and dicing.  Learn how to properly cut all the awkward produce. This includes cantaloupe, pineapple, avocado, cucumber, kiwi, cauliflower, mango, orange, greens, ginger and garlic.  You will be making three mouthwatering salads using your newly cut produce.  Produce subject to change due to availability. Chinese New Year Dinner
Guest Chef StephenB

Friday January  24th @7p | Demonstration Style | 2 ½ hour class | $75

Celebrate the Chinese New Year with Chef StephenB, as he cooks up some of his Asian specialties. You'll be greeted with a complimentary cocktail while you mingle and indulge in some signature appetizers. Chef StephenB will keep the celebration going by cooking and serving up a family style cuisine. There will be raffles throughout the evening, which is included in with your ticket.

Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, brings an opportunity to wish good luck for the coming year for yourself and unto others. Lucky colors to wear are red and gold.
