Summer Berry Salad With Mint Sugar Recipe opens in a new tab
From tracking down the perfect kitchen to making sure there are enough lemons to dress the set, Marie Guggedahl deems no detail too small when it comes to Whole Foods Market’s cooking series, Freshly Made opens in a new tab. As the associate producer, it’s her job to make sure the shoots run smoothly, which sometimes means being head taste tester on set. We asked her to share one of her favorite new recipe videos coming out of the studio.
Our director on the Freshly Made series is known for sometimes trying to sneak a bite of a recipe we are shooting before we are done shooting it. This usually happens when we are shooting something a little more decadent, such as mini sesame chocolate chip cookies, legs of lamb, sweet potato apple pies and so on. But when I caught him trying to grab spoonful of this Summer Berry Salad with Mint Sugar, I knew it had to be delicious! This salad focuses on showcasing the best berries summer has to offer, but turning them up at notch with a mix of sweet sugar and fresh mint (tip: use the extra sugar & mint mixture for mojitos). This recipe has our director’s stamp of approval, which sometimes can be hard to get, so go ahead and make this salad and enjoy the simplicity of summer!
