From tracking down the perfect kitchen to making sure there are enough lemons to dress the set, Marie Guggedahl deems no detail too small when it comes to Whole Foods Market’s cooking series, Freshly Made. As the associate producer, it’s her job to make sure the shoots run smoothly, which sometimes means being head taste tester on set. We asked her to share one of her favorite new recipe videos coming out of the studio.
Everyone expects hot dogs and burgers on the Fourth, but if you want to serve something out-of-the-ordinary, why not fire up the grill and throw on some pizzas instead? I've made the Spicy Grilled Vegan Pizzas in this episode of Freshly Made several times since we shot the video with food editor Molly Siegler — and have even converted a few of my family members who warily asked me, 'We’re not putting cheese on this?'. First of all, let’s talk about how awesome grilled pizza is. The crust gets crispy, but still has the right amount of chew, and the heat melds the toppings together perfectly.
