From tracking down the perfect kitchen to making sure there are enough lemons to dress the set, Marie Guggedahl deems no detail too small when it comes to Whole Foods Market’s cooking series, Freshly Made. As the associate producer, it’s her job to make sure the shoots run smoothly, which sometimes means being head taste tester on set. We asked her to share one of her favorite new recipe videos coming out of the studio.
I might mispronounce ‘brei’ every time I say it, but I do know for certain that it’s delicious! When our host, Molly, compared this dish to migas I knew there was no possible way it could be bad. Being that our show’s crew and I all live in Texas we know migas as well as the French know a good baguette. Migas is usually a combination of eggs, tortilla chips, cheese, peppers and tomatoes, but in this recipe for southwestern matzoh brei the chips are replaced with matzoh. So once you’re done with your matzoh ball soup making, take your leftover matzoh and make this immediately!
