What Are Hemp Seeds?

Hemp seeds come from one of the oldest, most versatile and hardy plants in the world. Hemp is used for making fabric, pressed for oil, ground for powder and eaten as shelled seeds. Plus, just a little bit can add a protein boost to your diet!

How to Eat Hemp Seeds

Hemp seeds (also called hemp “hearts”) are sold shelled, so they’re ready to eat when purchased. You can simply sprinkle them over your morning oatmeal or yogurt, or mix into baked goods. I like to use them in baked oatmeal!

Once opened, store packages of hemp seeds in the refrigerator, where they will stay fresh for up to a year.

Here are some great ways to incorporate hemp seeds into your diet:
