We love our producers, suppliers and vendors and we think most of them have some pretty interesting stories behind their products too. We’re sharing some of our favorites here in an ongoing series.

Method was already part of a sea change when their first cleaning products debuted in 2000. The world took notice of their vibrant formulas, irresistible fragrances and famously sleek and beautiful packaging — plus a commitment to be tough on dirt, yet gentle on the planet with naturally derived, biodegradable ingredients.

Now Method’s founders, childhood pals Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan, are making waves again and taking their packaging to the next level by using ocean plastic collected straight from the beaches of Hawaii.

“We’re demonstrating smart ways of reusing the plastics that are already on the planet,” Adam explains. “We recover plastic from the ocean, divert it from the landfill and recycle it into plastic bottles.”

Method has been using 100% post-consumer-recycled packaging for most products since 2006. What makes using ocean plastic unique is that it directly impacts marine ecosystems and raises public awareness about the serious problem of plastics in our oceans.

“We realize that only a small amount of plastic will be taken out of the ocean to make these bottles,” Adam says. “But we can have a big impact if we change people’s minds about their role in protecting our oceans.”

As if that stylish soap pump wasn’t enough of a conversation starter, Method gives us one more reason to proudly display cleaning products instead of stashing them under the kitchen sink.

This is awesome! As a Method consumer it's great to see the company's efforts are expanding and continuously evolving. It's also really great to hear that the beaches of Hawaii (my home) are being cleaned and further sustained! :D

I bought and tried the shower formula. It did absolutely nothing to reduce much less eliminate the black mold that is beginning to form in the grout between the shower floor tiles. HELP!

I really like Method Dish Soap (Lemon Mint). It smells so refreshing, and it does an awesome job on all the dirty dishes.....if you soak a dirty or, even burnt, pan with water and just a small squirt of this dish soap, the pan becomes sparkling clean in an instant!!!! I've never seen anything like it. I don't know if it's the lemon or the soap itself, but there is absolutely no scrubbing needed. I also like the sleek shape of the bottle and the lemon color brightens my sink area. Keep up the good work!

I love, love, love Method products! I like the purple glass cleaner, the laundry soap and the mimosa soap. I used to have a cleaning lady who used chemicals and the fumes were terrible. Also, when I found out what's in most cleaning products, and that there were natural alternatives, I stopped buying them. I mostly use Method products now. I would like to know why the laundry soap is so expensive compared to other commercial brands, however.

I absolutely love the French Lavender hand soap and the all-purpose cleaner. The scent is so gentle - unlike the stronger scents in other soaps and cleansers. The all-purpose cleanser cleans all surfaces beautifully and leaves a light scent of lavender in its place.

Been using DAILY SHOWE for a very long time, safe to use and squirt around without being afraid to get affiliated. But, I do use some of their other products and love them all.

I've been a Method consumer for years now. My favorite products of theirs are anything in their lavender or sea minerals fragrances. I love their hand wash and foaming hand wash. I wanted to try this new spray of theirs that you spray in your dryer, instead of fabric softener, but in reading the reviews on this product on Method's website, most of the people who posted mentioned that there was a major issue with the sprayer part. Otherwise I would have ordered this product, as I love new versions of products, innovative ideas. It never would have crossed my mind that there could be such a thing as a fabric softener spray, that you spray in your dryer. I truly wonder how effective it would be, would it work as well as liquid or fabric softener sheets? If they do resolve the sprayer issue on this product I definitely would want to order it.

We really love the mild scents and gentleness of Method hand soaps on the skin, besides the emotional impact it has on our minds, knowing that we're helping thep environment in a small way. I must add though that most customers (including my family) at Whole Foods are the kind of folks who already care deeply about the environment. This awareness campaign by Method should be taken beyond Whole Foods territory to educate the unaware folks out there, through mainstream media!
