Some Super Snacks + a GoodBelly

By Allison Burch, January 28, 2011  |  Meet the Blogger  |  More Posts by Allison Burch

I have a confession to make. A really big-deal football game is coming up soon and I have no idea who’s playing. This is especially embarrassing since I live in Texas (football is HUGE here) and the big game is in Dallas this year. However, just because I don’t follow the game doesn’t mean I won’t be tuned in to my TV come that fateful first Sunday in February. Hey, it’s a cultural phenomenon! Plus, the game is a great excuse to get together with friends, whoop and holler (I usually cheer for whoever has the ball at the moment) and eat snacks for hours on end. Keep reading for a chance to win a little GoodBelly goody. This year, we’re going to have a few people over and I plan on making either this great turkey chili or these stuffed potato skins and a big bowl of guacamole. I also like to have a bunch of easy snacks on the side and here are a few new products that I’m super-excited to add to my lineup: evol Mini Burritos

  • Made-from-scratch mini burritos with less than 190 calories each
  • Fresh ingredients all wrapped up in a traditionally made tortilla
  • Cheese from the milk of cows not treated with rBST
  • Free-range chicken and beef from cattle raised without antibiotics and added growth hormones
  • Make a party tray with a selection of all the flavors: Chicken, Bean & Rice, Veggie Fajita, Chicken & Black Bean and Shredded Beef

Family-Sized Veggie Pirate’s Booty

  • Re-sealable 10-oz, family-sized bag sold exclusively at Whole Foods Market®
  • Baked rice and corn puffs with a deceivingly delicious blend of spinach, kale, cabbage, carrots and broccoli
  • Gluten free and trans-fat free

Laurel Hill Kettle Cooked Potato Chips

  • A Whole Foods Market® exclusive!
  • Kettle cooked in small batches which makes for a big crunch
  • Gluten free and made with no preservatives and no trans fats
  • A tasty selection of flavors—Sea Salt, Sea Salt & Malt Vinegar, Jalapeno, Sea Salt (40% Reduced Fat), Barbeque (40% Reduced Fat) and Cracked Black Pepper (40% Reduced Fat)

Another confession…I’m not a huge snacker in my everyday life. So, after an evening of munching and crunching my way through an entire football game, I’m sure my belly will be asking for a break! That’s why I plan to be prepared with these new GoodBelly Probiotic Drinks. You could even give the “shots” to your guests as “party favors” on their way out. GoodBelly Probiotic Fruit Juice Drinks

  • Dairy free, soy free and vegan
  • Uses a base of organic fruit juices rather than yogurt
  • Contains 20 billion live and active cultures per serving (at time of manufacture)
  • Uses their patented probiotic culture, Lp299v
  • Look for super specials in your store on: GoodBelly Plus Shots, GoodBelly Splash (in grab and go bottles) and GoodBelly Family-Sized Quarts

In fact, the good folks at GoodBelly are giving away a cute cotton tote bag and a VIP coupon so you can try a GoodBelly product on the house. To enter the giveaway just leave a comment below by Friday, February 4th and we’ll pick ten winners at random. So tell me, which team should I cheer for and why?

I would live to know what health snacks I could eat while watching the Superbowl next weekend. I usually just go for the dips and chips, but there must some good healthy snacks that will not pile on the calories and still taste great. Can you please give me some hints. Thanks,

I served some GoodBelly to my husband when he was really ill and uninterested in food. He drank a little and then said, "This can't be good for me; it's so delicious!" It is a regular item for us now.

I live in San Antonio (far NW) and my husband and I are visiting Whole Foods today for the first time. I am going to forward your page to my daughter, who also lives in San Antonio, whose husband is from Pennsylvania and is a huge Steelers fan. They are hosting a party for the "big game" and, since she is a nurse and health "freak", hopefully she will be interested in all the items and recipes you have listed here. Go Steelers!!!!!

My whole family *loves* Veggie Pirate's Booty! And I'm so glad that it's gluten-free so my son can still enjoy it. If it was in my budget I'd buy it by the case. :) I'd love to try the GoodBelly products especially for recovering from the flu that made the rounds here last week.

Cheer for the halftime show! When it come to the superbowl, I live for the commercials and the always entertaining halftime. As for snacks, the Good Belly Splash looks fun. But will it help reduce the size of my belly? That would be heavenly.
