If you’re seeking new ways to renew, revitalize and warm up during these late winter days, we’ve got you covered. We’ve rounded up fresh takes on two familiar favorites — oatmeal and a body scrub. Even better, they’re made with teas that you may already have in your pantry.

Yogi Tea Overnight Oats
Steel-cut oats are not just an affordable and healthy breakfast, they’re easy to prepare ahead too. If you’re looking to mix up your oatmeal routine, use your favorite Yogi tea (a spiced black tea is recommended) in place of water or milk when preparing the oats. Then finish off with your favorite toppings (think: blackberries, diced mango, strawberries, walnuts, chia seeds and coconut) and enjoy. Time saving tip: This recipe can be prepared up to two days in advance if stored in an air-tight container and refrigerated.

Yogi: Feel Good, Be Good, Do Good

Yogi opens in a new tab’s story began in the late 1960s, when Yogi Bhajan – Yogi’s original founder and a teacher of holistic living – would serve his yoga students adelicious, aromatic tea made of ginger, cinnamon, clove, black pepper and cardamom after yoga class. Made according to a family recipe brought from India, this traditional Ayurvedic chai spice tea was affectionately named “Yogi tea” by Yogi Bajan’s students. Inspired by the power of herbs on the body and mind, many of these students set out to share Yogi Bajan’s delicious tea; a grassroots endeavor that, by 1984, grew into the Yogi Tea Company.

Yogi’s guiding principle to “Feel Good, Be Good, Do Good”, extends to all aspects of its business, from sourcing organic ingredients whenever possible to employing responsible business practices to supporting local and international partners and grower communities.

Based in Springfield, Oregon, Yogi works with a number of organizations that support the local community, including a non-profit group that offers vocational training to adults with developmental disabilities. Yogi’s community further extends to its international partners and grower communities in over 50 countries across the globe. One recent effort included partnering with a supplier and local farmers to build a bridge and expand a schoolhouse in the Village of Santa Tereza de Omoa; where Yogi sources the majority of its cardamom. Upon the completion of the bridge and school, village residents have better access to education and business opportunities, supplies, neighboring family members, and to a generally improved quality of life.

Through these efforts, Yogi honors its founding principle to serve others through the business of making a variety of teas — many organic — to support health; and by helping others achieve their potential and live vibrant lives.
