One Dish Wonders

Getting back into your normal routine after the holidays can be tough!  Let us help!  We are featuring one pot meals that are easy to make ahead or toss in a crockpot.  Cold weather is perfect for comfort foods such as soup, chili, and pot roasts.  We will show you how to create nutritious and delicious one dish wonders from 11-5 on Saturday and Sunday.

Healthy Cooking Bowl at the Vineyard

This weekend we play host to our annual Healthy Cooking Bowl! Each day between 12pm-5pm you will be able to sample healthy dishes and products throughout our store. We will also hold the following daily events: Friday @11am & 3pm - healthy store tours with our Concierge (check in at Guest Service desk), Saturday @12pm-3pm - Healthy Cooking Bowl between all departments, and Sunday @2pm-3pm - Kids Craft Hour, create your own trail mix! Most mushrooms are available year-round, however many are at their peak in fall and winter. Stop by as Marja discusses the difference between portobello and porcini or maitake and morel and how to spotlight them at your table. And you won't want to miss the Vertical Mushroom Tasting.

Cooking Department Demo: Winter Squash

 

Winter squash is versatile and easy to prepare, and is packed with carotenoids, such as the beta-carotene that gives its flesh a lovely orange hue. Many varieties also supply good amounts of vitamin C, niacin and potassium, making this nutrient-rich vegetable well worth adding to your recipe repertoire. Marja will feature a Butternut Barley Soup recipe from Rip Esselstyn's My Beef with Meat book.
