Unilever United States, Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is voluntarily recalling a limited number of tubs of Breyers®ice cream because it was mispackaged and may contain undeclared wheat. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The products being recalled are:

Breyers All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip
Size: 1.5-quart (1.41L)
UPC: 077567254245
Lot Code/Best If Used By dates: FEB1711GH, FEB1811GH & FEB1911GH ONLY (located on the bottom of the tub)

On a limited number of tubs, the lid describes the product as "Breyers®All Natural Cookies & Cream" ice cream, and the tub portion of the package describes the product as "Breyers®All Natural Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream. The product inside of the tub is "All Natural Cookies & Cream." The ingredient statement on the tub does not declare wheat, which is an ingredient of the Cookies & Cream product.

Premier Organics of Berkeley, CA is recalling 840 Cases of Artisana Raw Tahini of Lot 90811, in 16oz glass jars because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious infections.

The product being recalled is:

UPC: 8-70001-00004-6
Lot Code: 90811 ONLY

Of the numerous samples taken by both Premier Organics and the FDA of lot 90811, only one sample came back positive for salmonella. Premier Organics has ceased distribution of Artisana Tahini lot 90811 as they continue their investigation with the FDA into what caused the problem. No other lots have been affected. It is important to note that there have been NO REPORTED ILLNESSES to date.

Van's International Foods has issued an allergy alert and is voluntarily recalling the following product: 12.4 ounce package of frozen Van's Wheat Free Homestyle Pancakes with the lot number listed below because they contain undeclared wheat, gluten, milk and egg in the product.

The voluntary recall was initiated immediately after a packaging operator error, limited to one shift, was discovered. Liberté Brand Products  announced that it is recalling all Liberté Méditerranée Wild Blackberry Yogurt 6 oz code dated Sept 02 distributed in the USA because it may contain undeclared walnuts and plums. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.

Liberte initiated the recall on August 11th 2009, when the company received an email from a consumer that found that containers labeled as Liberté Wild Blackberry yogurt actually contained the Liberté Méditerranée Plum and Walnut fruit preparation. Notwithstanding our internal quality safeguards, the Plum and Walnut filling was inadvertently put into the Wild Blackberry containers for some subset of this production run. The company has notified its distributors and retailers where the product was distributed and has asked that the products be removed from the shelves. To date no illnesses have been reported from this product.

Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, Inc. today announced that it is expanding its voluntarily recall of pistachios to include all roasted shelled pistachios and roasted in-shell pistachios from its 2008 crop due to potential contamination with the Salmonella organism. The Company is also recalling raw shelled pistachios from the 2008 crop that are not subsequently roasted prior to retail sale. The brands packaged for retail sale subject to recall can be found in the table below. The voluntary recall was expanded as a precaution.

On February 4, 2009, Genisoy Food Company expanded its voluntary recall of Protein Bars because of concern that the recalled bars contain peanut products that were manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), which is the focus of an ongoing Salmonella investigation. Genisoy took this action in cooperation with the FDA in response to PCA's recent expansion of its peanut products recall to include all peanut products produced in PCA's Blakely, Georgia plant since January 1, 2007.
