We've got great classes, just for kids. All classes are suitable for 5-12 year olds unless otherwise listed. All classes are intended to be drop-off classes, unless otherwise listed, and are signed up for individually. Pre-registration is required for all cooking classes. Here's what's coming up this year. If you see a class you're intersted in marked as "Sold out" please contact us at 612.927.8141 or ani.loizzo@wholefoods.com and we can add you to the waiting list for that class in case there is a cancellation.

Please note: The Wednesday and Thursday sessions of each Kids Kitchen Camp are the same- please just register for one!

Wednesday, July 18th | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The Kids Kitchen Camp Goes to Italy (Wednesday Session)- ONE OPEN SPOT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. School may be out, but it’s never a bad time to learn about history, geography, art, language and more…especially if you get to eat your homework! In this fun class, we’ll learn all about the history of Italy, culture and cuisine. We’ll learn all about the ingredients that go into Italian foods, the different cooking methods behind them, and taste all sorts of delicious things! This class can be vegetarian upon request (please specify when registering). Classes are suitable for kids ages 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

  • Agnolotti (Stuffed Pasta) with Pesto

Kids in the Kitchen: Perfecting Pizza and Pasta- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Kids, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and start rolling out some delicious lunch. In this class, you’ll learn how to make a double whammy of great dishes- personal pizzas and roll your own pasta with pesto sauce and meatballs! This class will teach you all about how to use flour, crack eggs, roll dough, and safely handle raw meat, and will probably get a little messy, so you might want to wear some clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. This class can be vegetarian upon request (please specify when registering) and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

Kids in the Kitchen: Delicious Dumplings- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. You could travel all around the world, and almost everywhere you went, there would be delicious dumplings. A dumpling can be made from bread or grains, or can be filling stuffed in a wrapper made from many different things. In this class, we’re going to visit three countries on the Dumpling Express- Italy for gnocchi (rolled potato dumplings), Japan for chicken gyoza (pan fried dumplings), and Mexico for chocolate empanadas. This class might get a little messy, so make sure you’re not wearing your most favorite fancy clothes today! This class is hands on.  Vegetarian options are available (please specify when registering). This class cannot offer gluten-free or vegan options. Classes are suitable for kids 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

Kids in the Kitchen: Flipping for Flapjacks!- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Pancakes: they’re not just for breakfast anymore. Pancakes can be sweet or salty, spicy, or even cheesy. They’re eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, in all sorts of ways, in all sorts of places. We’re going to make some new and interesting pancakes from around the world: Chinese scallion pancakes, ham and cheese crepes and a chocolate Dutch baby (a fluffy oven pancake). We’ll do lots of egg cracking, rolling, flipping and whisking, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. This class is hands on. Vegetarian options are available (please specify when registering). This class cannot offer gluten-free or vegan options. Kids in the Kitchen: Baking Up Breakfast- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Many of us hear from grown-ups that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Chef Ani will show you how to make it the most delicious meal of the day too! You’ll whip up mango carrot smoothies, no bake granola bars, build your own omelets and purple pancakes that will make your mornings extra yummy. This class is vegetarian and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

Cost: $15 per kid

Saturday, August 25th | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Kids in the Kitchen: Super Snacks- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. There is so much healthy food out there for you to eat, and a lot of it is super delicious! In this class, we’ll enjoy fruits, veggies, beans, grains and more that will help your body and brain to grow while tasting really awesome too, especially when it’s time for a SNACK! We’ll make pan roasted ranch chickpeas, pb & j bites, cheese crackers and apple blender muffins. This class is vegetarian, but cannot be gluten free or vegan. This class is open to kids ages 5-12. Our kids’ classes are drop off classes- kids only, please! Pre-registration is required.

Cost: $15 per kid

We offer birthday parties with many themes for kids 5 and up. To inquire about scheduling a birthday party, contact Chef Ani at ani.loizzo@wholefoods.com at least six weeks before your ideal birthday party date. Please note that our first availabe weekend opening for a birthday party is October 2018.
