We've got great classes, just for kids. All classes are suitable for 5-12 year olds unless otherwise listed. All classes are intended to be drop-off classes, unless otherwise listed, and are signed up for individually. Pre-registration is required for all cooking classes. Here's what's coming up this year. Tuesday, August 2nd | 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Session 1) OR Wednesday, August 3rd | 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Session 2)

The Whole Kids Club Presents…The Kids Kitchen Camp Goes to the UK- TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. School may be out, but it’s never a bad time to learn cool things…especially if you get to eat your homework! In this fun class, we’ll learn all about the history of the United Kingdom, culture and cuisine. We’ll learn all about the ingredients that go into British, Welsh, Irish and Scottish foods, the different cooking methods behind them, and taste all sorts of delicious things! This class can be vegetarian upon request (please specify when registering). Classes are suitable for kids ages 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Pre-registration is required. On the menu:

  • Welsh Rarebit (Cheese on Toast)
  • Cock-A-Leekie Soup (Chicken Soup with Leeks)
  • Shepherd’s Pie
  • Popovers

Saturday, August 27th | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Roll Your Own Sushi!- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. With a little rice, a little rolling and a few of your favorite ingredients, you can make your very own maki or sushi rolls at home! Sushi rolls are a great hands-on cooking experiment for kids, and Chef Ani will teach you all about rice, seaweed, fish and more in this fun class full of hands-on cooking time. If you’re not a big fan of raw fish, don’t worry- you can make some sushi with cooked fish or no fish at all. You’ll snack on sesame edamame, make your own maki rolls and even fruit sushi for dessert. This class is gluten free and can be vegetarian upon request (please specify when registering) and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Breakfast of Champions

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Many of us hear from grown-ups that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Chef Ani will show you how to make it the most delicious meal of the day too! You’ll whip up sunshine smoothies, a rolled cheese omelet, breakfast tacos and choose-your-own-adventure pancakes that will make your mornings extra yummy. This class can be vegetarian and/or gluten-free upon request (please specify upon registration) and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

Cost: $5 per Whole Kids Club member, $8 per non-member

 

Saturday, September 24th | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Cheese Please!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. There are so many cheeses in the world, you could try a new cheese every day and never try them all. That being said, there’s no time like the present to start. We’ll go beyond string cheese and slices to try some super delicious and maybe slightly weird cheese from around the world. We’ll try cheese made from cow, sheep and goat milk, some that’s pretty old and some that lives in caves. Then, we’ll turn some cheeses into cheese dip with cheese chips, double cheese grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup and sweet cheese and chocolate chip cannoli. This class is good for vegetarian kids and can be gluten free upon request (please specify upon registration). This class is open to kids ages 5-12. Our kids’ classes are drop off classes- kids only, please! Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Beginning Baking

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. If you missed out on the June baking class, here’s another round of our most popular kids’ class: beginning baking! Many kids have a sweet tooth (or teeth!), and baking is a great way to learn reading, math, science and more in the kitchen! In this fun class, we’ll learn how to make some kid friendly baking classics. You’ll mix up your own pizza dough (and build your own pizzas), cheesy buttermilk biscuits, choose your own adventure cookies, and whip up chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream. You’ll learn all about ingredients and what many different baking terms like “cream”, “whip” and “sift” mean. This class is good for vegetarian kids. Classes are suitable for kids ages 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Please note that this class is longer than our usual Saturday classes. Pre-registration is required.

Saturday, October 22nd | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents...The Great Pumpkin

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Tis’ the season for pumpkins. We’ll carve them up for Halloween, and later, bake them up for Thanksgiving. Pumpkins are really good at being decoration and dessert, but they’re good for so much more, and they’re from right here in America! We’ll whip up some super delicious pumpkin treats including pumpkin smoothies, pumpkin pancakes, mini pumpkin and cheese pies and pumpkin peanut butter cups for dessert. This class is good for vegetarian kids, and is open to kids ages 5-12. Our kids’ classes are drop off classes- kids only, please! Pre-registration is required.

Saturday, November 5th | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Getting Saucy

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Whether you spread it, toss it or dip something into it, sauces are great things to learn how to make! In this class, we’ll learn the science behind making different types of delicious hot and cold sauces and yummy things to eat with them. We’ll make fresh pesto in the food processor, yummy barbecue sauce, three-cheese sauce on the stovetop and even chocolate sauce to enjoy with some fresh fruit. We’ll learn all about how to work with hot foods safely, how to pick the best ingredients for sauces, and how to cook pasta to perfection to enjoy with our cheese sauce. This class will probably get a little messy, so you might want to wear some clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. This class can be vegetarian upon request (please specify upon registration) and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club Presents...Bake with Your Kids: Holiday Cookies- Session I

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Mixing up, rolling out, cutting out, baking and icing cookies with your kids can be so much fun, but oh, the mess. No problem- you can use our kitchen! In this fun family class, we’ll make homemade sugar cookies from start to finish. You’ll have many cookies to take home and enjoy, and no mess to clean up! Parents, please note: this is not a drop-off class. At least one parent is required to participate in the class. Due to space restrictions, each family reservation is limited to four people. Please indicate in your registration how many people will be attending. All supplies are included, but please feel free to bring favorite cookie cutters from home if you so desire. Pre-registration is required.

Cost: $20 per family

We offer birthday parties with many themes for kids 5 and up. To inquire about scheduling a birthday party, contact Chef Ani at ani.loizzo@wholefoods.com at least six weeks before your ideal birthday party date. Please note  that our first availabe weekend opening for a birthday party is in October 2016.
