We've got great classes, just for kids. All classes are suitable for 5-12 year olds unless otherwise listed. All classes are intended to be drop-off classes, unless otherwise listed, and are signed up for individually. Pre-registration is required for all cooking classes. Here's what's coming up this year. Saturday, April 23rd | 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents...Delicious Dumplings!- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Almost every country in the world makes dumplings of some kind. In India, they make samosas, in Italy they make ravioli, in Germany they make spaetzle and ore! Today, we’re going to make gyoza from Japan, chicken and dumplings from America and Danish aebelskiver. You’ll learn how to fold your dumplings, how to make a quick chicken scoop, and how to whip up a light fluffy pancake-like batter (with chocolate, of course). This class can be vegetarian upon request (please specify when registering) and is a drop-off class- kids only, please! Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club presents...Beginning Baking- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Many kids have a sweet tooth (or teeth!), and baking is a great way to learn reading, math, science and more in the kitchen! In this fun class, we’ll learn how to make some kid friendly baking classics like choose-your-own-adventure chocolate chip cookies, double chocolate cupcakes and biscuit sandwiches, and learn all about ingredients and what many different baking terms like “cream”, “whip” and “sift” mean. This class is good for vegetarian kids. Classes are suitable for kids ages 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club Presents...Surprises of Spring- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Spring veggies are full of surprises. Did you know that an artichoke is actually a big thistle? That asparagus can grow up to six inches….in just one day? And that the red part of the strawberry is technically not the fruit part of the plant? Spring fruits and veggies are full of surprises, and today is a great time for adventurous eaters to try some weird and wonderful dishes that star spring vegetables. In this class, we’ll make asparagus pasta, sweet pea dip with artichoke chips and strawberry yogurt polka dots for a delicious spring time feast. This class is good for vegetarian kids. Classes are suitable for kids ages 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club Presents...Barbecue Classics!- SOLD OUT!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Let’s be honest- we live in Minnesota, so when it’s warm, we head outside to cook. Today, we’ll teach you how to make some of the very best things you can cook on the grill or enjoy with grilled stuff. We’ll make choose your own adventure lemonade, beef burgers and veggie burgers, special Mexican grilled corn on the cob called elote, and deconstructed s’mores. This class is good for vegetarian kids. Classes are suitable for kids ages 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club presents…Buried in Berries

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Bright and colorful, fresh and flavorful, it’s hard to beat a good berry. In this class we’ll learn about true berries and berry convincing imposter berries, how to pick out good ones, how to wash and store, them, and how to use them in blueberry lemonade, strawberry gazpacho (cold soup), grilled chicken with blackberry barbecue sauce and triple berry trifles. This class has vegetarian options upon request. Classes are suitable for kids ages 5-12, and are drop off classes- kids only please! Remember, berries are used for natural dye, so please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Pre-registration is required.

Saturday, June 25th | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club presents…Cheese Please!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. There are so many cheeses in the world, you could try a new cheese every day and never try them all. That being said, there’s no time like the present to start. We’ll go beyond string cheese and slices to try some super delicious and maybe slightly weird cheese from around the world. We’ll try cheese made from cow, sheep and goat milk, some that’s pretty old and some that lives in caves. Then, we’ll turn some cheeses into Parmesan crackers, a very strange “grilled cheese”, caprese salad and inside out cheesecakes. This class is good for vegetarian kids and can be gluten free upon request. This class is open to kids ages 5-12. Our kids’ classes are drop off classes- kids only, please! Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club presents…Around the World on a Dumpling

The Whole Kids Club presents…Roll Your Own Fresh Pasta

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Kids, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and start rolling out some delicious lunch. In this class, you’ll learn how to make a double whammy of great dishes- personal pizzas and roll your own pasta with fresh pesto! This class will teach you all about how to use flour, crack eggs, roll dough, and use fresh herbs, and will probably get a little messy, so you might want to wear some clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. This class is vegetarian and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

Saturday, July 23rd | 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Beginning Baking: Quickbreads and Flatbreads

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Whether it is for sandwiches, toast, or something totally different, bread figures into a lot of our foods, and it is quite easy to make at home! Today we’re going to make some quickbreads and a yeast bread: fluffy buttermilk biscuits, Indian naan bread, focaccia bread and strawberry shortcakes. You’ll learn how to mix, sift, knead, roll and bake your breads, and learn all about flour and yeast. This class will probably get a little messy, so you might want to wear some clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. This class is vegetarian and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Please note that this class is longer than our usual Saturday classes. Pre-registration is required.

Saturday, July 30th | 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Loco for Cocoa!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. White, milk or dark chocolate can be a delicious treat, but there is so much more you can do with chocolate than just eat it! We’ll use it to make frozen hot chocolate, chocolate brownies, chocolate dipped fruit and chocolate shortbread cookies. We’ll even taste some different chocolates so you can learn what you like the best! This class will probably get a little messy, so you might want to wear some clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. This class is vegetarian and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Please note that this class is at a different time than our usual Saturday classes since we’ll be whipping up treats, not lunch! Pre-registration is required.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Getting Saucy

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. Whether you spread it, toss it or dip something into it, sauces are great things to learn how to make! In this class, we’ll learn the science behind making different types of delicious hot and cold sauces and yummy things to eat with them. We’ll make fresh pesto in the food processor, three-cheese sauce on the stovetop and even caramel sauce to enjoy with some fresh fruit. We’ll learn all about how to work with hot foods safely, how to pick the best ingredients for sauces, and how to cook pasta to perfection to enjoy with our cheese sauce. This class will probably get a little messy, so you might want to wear some clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little dirty. This class is vegetarian and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

Saturday, August 27th | 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Whole Kids Club Presents…Roll Your Own Sushi!

This class will be taught by Chef Ani. With a little rice, a little rolling and a few of your favorite ingredients, you can make your very own maki or sushi rolls at home! Sushi rolls are a great hands-on cooking experiment for kids, and Chef Ani will teach you all about rice, seaweed, fish and more in this fun class full of hands-on cooking time. If you’re not a big fan of raw fish, don’t worry- you can make some sushi with cooked fish or no fish at all. You’ll snack on sesame edamame, make your own maki rolls and even fruit sushi for dessert. This class is gluten free and can be vegetarian upon request (please specify when registering) and is a drop-off class- kids only please! Pre-registration is required.

This summer, we have ten weeks of kids kitchen camps designed to teach culinarily curious kids the art, history, science and culture of food around the world. All classes are suitable for 5-12 year olds unless otherwise listed. All classes are intended to be drop-off classes, unless otherwise listed, and are signed up for individually. Pre-registration is required for all cooking classes. Please note: kids kitchen camp and all other Whole Foods Market cooking classes are each signed up for individually, not as a whole session or series of classes. We offer birthday parties with many themes for kids 5 and up.
