We asked Molly Siegler, our food editor, to share one of her favorite new recipes coming out of our test kitchen.
I am very devoted to red lentils, but this is the first time I’ve used them in two different ways in the same recipe. Lentils are mashed together to make a savory gluten-free cracker dough and also roasted for a crunchy and delicious garnish for the finished bites. Also, the Kite Hill cream cheese-style spread is too good, especially mixed with the peppadew peppers. This appetizer is super impressive and surprisingly addictive — I love that it’s at home at a classy cocktail party or rowdy football-watching spread.
