Does anyone really identify with the idea of “anti-aging” skincare? When I was younger, I thought I was too young for anti-aging products. Now that I’m…shall we say… less young, I feel like aging is actually kind of exhilarating. I don’t want to waste my time fighting the inevitable, I just want to look and feel my best.
Here’s a bit of a re-frame: What if we think in terms of “pro-aging” skincare? In my book, being pro-aging means it’s never too early to practice prevention — and never too late to look great.

Teens and Twenties
Sunscreen should be the foundation of any skin care regimen, because sun damage today contributes to wrinkles and discoloration later. Choose a full-spectrum formula and apply under makeup.
Try: MyChelle Sun Shield SPF 28
Antioxidants help the skin recover from the effects of sun and environmental damage. Look for a serum or moisturizer with antioxidant-packed ingredients — such as pomegranate, rosehip or acai — near the top of the ingredient list.
Try: Evan Healy Pomegranate Repair Serum with Sea Buckthorn Oil
Hydrating face cream locks in moisture and diminishes the appearance of fine lines. Select a cream with effective humectants, such as hyaluronic acid or honey.
Try: Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream
Fifties and Beyond
Eye cream helps quench the thin and delicate skin around your eyes. Look for a rich formula with nourishing oils, such as avocado oil, jojoba oil or sweet almond oil.
Try: Dr. Hauschka Daily Hydrating Eye Cream
