Oatmeal is a classic breakfast food, and for good reason. This stick-to-your-ribs staple provides plenty of fuel to last you until lunch, and a warm bowl helps wake you up in the morning — especially when your cozy bed is still calling.

Oatmeal has so many wonderful ways to be enjoyed that you could probably have a different oatmeal every single day of the year. You can make it in the slow cooker, bake it or do it overnight in the fridge. And let’s not forget the sweeter side of oats, with bars and cookies for dessert!

Almost anything can be mixed into a bowl of oats. Try one or a few of these ideas:

  • Nuts – Toasted walnuts, almond slivers, chopped pecans, pistachios

  • Seeds – Pepitas, sunflower seeds

  • Dried fruit – Peaches, mango, goji berries, blueberries

  • Fresh fruit – Sliced banana, diced apples or pears, raspberries

  • Go savory – Kale, fried eggs, balsamic vinegar, cheese

  • Spices and more – Maple syrup, cinnamon, cardamom, coconut flakes, chia

Customizing oatmeal is made easy by shopping from the bulk department. Buy as much or as little as you need without worrying about wasting product or packaging. When you get home, store your ingredients in glass Mason jars and you’ll have a full-on oatmeal creation station in your kitchen!
