It’s almost Memorial Day, and you know what that means – a string of parties, picnics and potlucks that only begins to subside in September. But don’t let that stress you out. I’m certainly not complaining. I love spending an afternoon or evening with my friends, relaxing and enjoying the company and delicious fare.
As someone who enjoys cooking, I look forward to any chance to let my culinary experimentations shine. But I know not everyone shares my adventurous food spirit and there are some folks whose dietary restrictions keep them from partaking in certain dishes. I keep that in mind when I’m bringing a dish to a potluck or when I’m hosting a cookout, since I don’t want to get too crazy and make something no one is willing to eat.
With just a few simple twists on classic flavors it’s easy to create a menu that goes beyond the usual potluck suspects but still pleases a crowd.
What’s your favorite dish to prepare for a crowd? Let me know in the comments!
