My kids are at the age where they don’t care too much about Thanksgiving dinner. For them it’s all about eating enough from their plate to get the prize: dessert! I can’t really blame them — I had pumpkin pie for my first child’s baby shower, after all. Dessert is something pretty much everyone can agree is an important part of the Turkey Day festivities.
These days, of course, having a large family meal means making sure everyone can partake, even at dessert. Whether you’re searching for a vegan solution to your favorite pie or a scrumptious gluten-free dessert, there are lots of swoon-worthy fall desserts to choose from.

If your guests might have other dietary restrictions, be sure to check with them ahead of time to find out what’s appropriate to serve. Those with allergies, especially to nuts, will appreciate the extra step in taking care of them at dinner.
When following any of these special diets, be sure to check labels on packaged ingredients to make sure they follow the guidelines for production and ingredients. Many ingredients may seem safe, but might not be produced in a nut- or gluten-free facility.
