The days are longer and the grill is lit — now you need a spark of cooking inspiration. We’re taking some of your grilling stalwarts and pairing them with unexpected sauces, our ready-to-eat, summered-up sides and the best of the season’s produce. Serve and sip with our beer and wine recommendations, and you’ve got a summer table reimagined.*
Animal Welfare Certified Strip Steak
Start with high standards: The steak from our Meat department’s butcher case is always Animal Welfare Certified. No antibiotics, ever. Strip steak is a tender cut with visible marbling, which can give the meat big flavor and juiciness. It loves a bold sauce, like one with a blast of soy sauce and sesame oil. Grab some vibrant green or rainbow chard while you’re at it — it sautés up in minutes and is perfect for balancing out the rich flavor of the beef.

Sustainable Wild Caught Halibut
This mild, firm fish is grill-ready and sauce-ready, especially for marinades that are a little sweet and a little savory. Grill or pan-sear some artichokes and peaches for dessert, and you’ve got yourself a seriously summery feast. (P.S. The halibut, along with the rest of the wild-caught seafood in our Seafood department, is always certified or rated for sustainability.)

Animal Welfare Certified Chicken Kabobs
Too busy to light the grill? Not when you pick up ready-to-cook, packed-with-veggies Animal Welfare Certified kabobs in our Meat department. Choose pre-marinated or marinate your own in something zingy and salty-sweet. Raise the stakes (or kabobs) by threading on some pineapple chunks — they’ll get caramelized and extra sweet.

Sustainable Wild Caught Chilean Sea Bass
Mild yet rich and lightly sweet, Sustainable Wild Caught Chilean Sea Bass is another firm fillet that holds up well to the grill and loves an umami-packed marinade. Keep it light with sweet summer veggies like snap peas and bright green salads. For a crispy-creamy side, boil small new potatoes, then smash and fry lightly in a skillet for crackling outsides.

Animal Welfare Certified Sirloin Steak
Keep it classic when it comes to a classic cut like sirloin: steak sauce, asparagus and fingerling potatoes. Be sure to throw the asparagus on the grill instead of steaming or sautéing — you won’t be able to get enough of their smoky sweetness. Finish it off with a bold Red and it’s summer meets steakhouse.
Snacks, Sauces & Sips
Our summer must-haves? Cases of sparkling water, a line-up of grilling marinades to mix it up every night of the week, the crunchiest chips we can find and, of course, something sweet to top it all off.
