I have been a customer of Whole Foods since it opened in Monterey California. Those comments by John Mackey calling The Affordable Health Care Act facist were over the top completely insensitive to the many Americans without health care today because they cannot afford it. I chose to back up my views with my checkbook and hence forth will no longer shop at Whole Foods.

My family will no longer shop at your stores. The fascist comment was only the beginning - then we see how very far to the right you really are. We will miss the good people at your store but we have to stand up for our own beliefs as well.

The essence of socially conscious capitalism is important And worthwhile and consistent with healthy eating and healthy capitalism. The world will be better economically as will eating habits and overall health. All makes me proud as it relates to what we believe in and sell with passion Less so the Obama care issue. Or worse fascist comment. These are political and can be your pov but should be intertwined with h The brand or business is john's personalhiosopht

After the CEO's revealing comments I've redirected my dollars from Whole Foods AND Sprouts to my local farmers markets. He'll never get financial support from me again.

It's important for us not to learn from history. So please don't use words that remind us of historical patterns that we're repeating.

It's funny, posters like this "I was thrilled when I heard you moving closer to my home...now, after hearing your remarks about the president and the new healthcare law I am appalled and will NOT be shopping in your store..." lend credence to your original statement. Fascism is here. It took a second Obama term for people to realize it. The label will stick.

Sir, you have absolutely nothing to apologize for. As a small business man, it made my day to hear what you had said. Sometimes the truth needs be told.

Very disappointed in the recent public comments. Where is your humility and responsibility in being CEO of company a lot of people believe in. You are starting to behave as irresponsibly as Chik Fil A zealot. Please stay focused on organic quality and button it up on personal beliefs. Not Libertarian at all.

I could care less about your politics, however when you come out and say comments like you did on NPR that could have a very adverse effect on your business. If sales drop so do jobs, and sadly the people who are going to pay the price for what you said are the people who work in your stores and receive the lowest wages in your company. Next time run your business and create jobs rather than run your mouth and lose them.

Whole Foods still has my business. I don't boycott people because I don't agree with their opinion. Because, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

"The term fascism today stirs up too much negative emotion with its horrific associations in the 20th century." This is the worst back pedaling I've seen in a while. It would have gone better if he would have said, "I got excited, I said something I didnt mean". Instead, its like he's trying to blame the word "fascism" itself for carrying a loaded connotation without warning him.

It would appear that this is a case of the company showing its true colors. It's quite simply motivated by a greed for profit and has no concern for "community" or the good of the societies citizens. This is certainly the last time I will be shopping in the franchise.

Well I have been shopping at Whole Foods for the past couple of years spending an average of $200 a week. After learning about your actions, I can assure you, I will never again shop at a store, ran by a lying greedy establishment. Hopefully the next thing on your agenda will be chapter eleven.

I was a whole foods regular and I haven't set foot in one since Mackey's WSJ Op-Ed. I respect people having different opinions but I don't want to give even a penny of my money to soulless people like Mackey. If whole foods wants my business, the board should fire Mackey and make the leadership keep their political opinions to themselves instead of using whole foods as a megaphone for their crazy ideas.

Mr. Mackey: You are so wrong about gov't supported health care: the Veterans Administration and Medicare provide vital, cost-effective care to millions of military and civilian seniors. And Medicaid helps pay for my 96-year-old mother's nursing care. If we enacted Medicare-for-All, US healthcare costs (some of the highest in the world) would come down. Businesses like yours would see lower employee costs as well. Overall, US business could better compete around the globe.
