I am a mom from afar as both of my children live in Oregon. I was a single mom for 23 years and took care of my mom during that time for 13 years. After my mom died in 2004 I reconnected with a childhood friend. I married him in 2007 and now live here in northern California. I have continued to help his family now so you never really stop being a mom. You also get to move into the category of GRANDmomma. It is an honor and privilege.

I agree with all the outside of the home working Mom's -- perhaps as a compromise the stores can set up an evening for those of us who can not make it during those hours or the outside of the home working mom's could come during their lunch break :) As always there no pleasing everyone all the time....

As a single mother of a very hungry 7 year old, it is important to me that he eats nothing but the best. I get all my staples at whole foods and only buy my meat here as well. I don't have a lot to live off of so trying to save a dollar also helps and whole foods does that for me. Thank you Whole Foods for allowing me to live within a budget and still get wholesome food for my son.

Celebrating Mother's Day means appreciating all moms, not just the stay at home mothers. I love Whole Foods but this event start and end time is a diappointnent for me and all working moms.

As a working mom, let me make a suggestion to the other working moms who have been a little cranky in their comments: Instead of just sniping about the hours (which do include a lunch hour), suggest something positive. Instead of "guess you don't care about working moms" or "this sucks," why not, "there are a lot of us working moms who might not be able to make it during those hours...next year, could you plan a similar event the Saturday before or maybe for a post-work evening?" A lot more constructive and maybe more likely to get the desired result of an event you can attend. Meanwhile, Whole Foods, thanks for recognizing moms in general, and I'll see you at lunch!

My mom is awesome because all of her 3 children ( incl me) always felt loved. I never once in my heart ever doubted that. She sacrificed and fought for us to have a good life and a good education. Even now at 65 yrs old she continues to nurture her adult kids and calls each of us to say how much she loves us!

This sounds like fun and I wish I could go to it - but I'll be at work all day on Thursday. Why couldn't you do this on a Saturday or in the evening?

Thank you, Whole Foods, for creating this event to celebrate moms. And thank you for having it overlap with lunch so that moms with all sorts of schedules can attend.

my mom is an awesome mom because she maintains such a happy positive outlook on life. she is always smiling and tries to see the best in people and situations. even though she is a 9-5 mom and wouldn't be able to attend this event, I guarantee she would say "that's really nice what Whole Foods is doing, what a great event!" and just be happy for the moms that could attend...having a positive attitude and being grateful for everything she has in life has kept her and our family healthy all of these years! she loves healthy food and I learned from her growing up how to cook. she was my inspiration to become a chef!

Thank you Whole Foods for honoring Mothers! I visit the Tampa store three times a week selecting "gluten free" foods for my daughter. She is my only child and has fought cancer for over a year as well as dealing with 100% gluten intolerance. As her only caregiver I would not have managed to be an awesome Mom without your helpful and educated staff to guide me through the food isles. Sylvia

My mom was abandoned by her real parents when she was 8 and raised by her aunt and uncle. She knows they loved her now, but at the time she didn't feel it. They were very strict and didn't officially adopt her until she was 50. I asked my mom where all her love came from. Love means sacrificing yourself, and that she does tirelessly. She said she learned it from my Dad, and from accepting Jesus into her heart when she was a young mother. She taught me that loving God and loving others are the two most important things in life. The third, of course, is to always have a healthy, green vegetable at dinner time. Nobody gets everything right all the time, but if we succeed in those three, we're doing pretty well!

Thanks, Whole Foods, for this generous offer. Whether or not we can make it from 10 to 1, the fact that you put forth the effort and expense to honor us moms makes me appreciate you more than I already do!!!

My daughter is a great mom! She does a lot for her family and for her friends. I agree with Carolyn, that this stinks for mom's who works full-time. Why can't you do this for mom's after they get done with work? Why does everything have to be held during work hours and then the ones that works full-time are left out which is not fair. It is the same where I live. There are parties for the people who live there and food is made but the people who work full-tkme are left out and nothing is given to them. I am not taking time off from work just because of a party or event to lose a job.

Unfortunately all the moms who go to work on Thursdays can't attend! It would have been better for all moms to have this in the evening or weekend - how about rescheduling it or repeating the event?

Whole Foods had to schedule this sometime! If they put it in the evening, there are moms who would complain they couldn't make it because they work that time of day. I supposed a "morning" and "evening" Mom-o-Rama would've been nice to be sure all moms are covered. But perhaps two celebrations wouldn't be cost-effective for the company (double the samples, prep-time, balloons, table set up, employees, advertisements, etc). The store is usually loaded with customers in the evening anyway, which might've created a higher demand for goodie bags, leaving some empty-handed and unhappy. I can see why they chose the morning/afternoon time frame. Working moms could always stop by on their lunch hour.
