Love Whole Foods - live there as a vegan in the midwest. =D I suggest giving Mom a fab' basket of organic fruit and veggies ... they usually have them made-up at my local store. They'll also put one together specifically for your mom, if you ask. Isn't that the sweetest thing? LOL My second suggestion would be some organic lentil soup - a cup of red cut lentils (from the bulk food aisle) and 3 cups of organic veggie stock ... stick it in a crock pot for a few hours and it's SOOOO yummy with some good seasoned bread or flavored rice crackers. Okay ... I'm hungry now!

I have been going to whole foods for all my family's needs since I was pregnant with my first son in 2003. Now 6 years and 3 kids later, everything in your store has made my Mommyhood much easier for my 5 year and 18 month old sons and 3 1/2 year old daughter. We always get the organic produce and stock up on beans and grains in the bulk aisle. The family size ground beef and ground chicken is also in our cart. When my kids where babies we would by the EarthsBest cereals and jars of food. I would also stock up on frozen veggies to give the kids some finger foods. Now my kids are pushing the littel mini carts and helping us pick stuff out. One of the most important aisles for my family of 5 has been the supplement section. I started by taking floradix iron and the prenatals when I was pregnant. I also would frequently drink red rasberry leaf tea and other herbal teas to help with my pregnancies. The probiotics, herbs (echinacea, goldenseal),and 365 kids vitamins have gotten us through candida (in my oldest son), ear infections, and various colds and flus. We purchase Organic Pastures milk for the enzymes and probiotics it contains. We always have the 365 electrolite water on hand when the kids have fevers. If it weren't for this section I don't know what we would have done. These items have definatley boosted my kids' immune system and made my life as a mom much easier. Thanks Whole Foods! (oh yeah, the beer and wine section also help once the kids are down for bed :))

I have been so lucky to be graced with a Whole Foods that is a 5 minute drive and even a bike ride away. I love being able to go up there for anything. I'm vegan and they have everyone of my needs there and when I make delicious meals I always make sure to let people know where I get my products from. I love the fresh produce, Good Belly products, Smart or Yves Pepperoni to make vegan pizzas w/ fake mozz cheese. The vegan mac n chreese boxes, annies gelatin free gummie rabbits, the fresh vegan cupcakes and cookies, amy's roasted pepper pizza, purely decadent ice cream (all flavors! but cookie dough is my favorite :) ), the coupons I get from them, Amy's soups. All of my meals have a part of whole foods! My mom loves my vegan pizza's where I get all of the ingredients from Whole foods, if she could she'd eat all of it and more!

I wish your store would carry more varieties of fresh edible flowers. I love to cook and I would love to make my mom an edible flower meal instead of giving her flowers to place in a vase. Anyway, thanks again for being awesome. I made a rock cod coconut curry cous cous last night and it rocked! Eric

The cheese department is superior. Load up on some creamy chevre, some fig paste and some delicious crackers and bread or cookies from the bakery. Then hit the tea aisle and the deli for sandwiches that you can cut into little squares, and you have yourself an easy and convenient Mother's Day tea party :)

My family's favorite part of Whole Foods in the making your own nut butter. My son gets a kick out of using the grinder to mash up the nuts and watching it come out of the machine.

My favorite: A gift basket of a hemp shirt, Lesser Evil Peanut Butter Chocolate Popcorn, Soy Ice Cream, Robusto cheese and 345 Crackers, and 365 sparking italian flavored mineral waters. Anything from Whole Foods is a fantastic present. If I'm doing my own shopping, the prices are excellent and the quality is uncomparable. My household recently lost jobs and a Whole Foods Mother's Day would be fantastic!

Cynthia says …

Your flowers are the highest quality and last oh so long! On Mothers Day, Birthdays, Valentines Day I make sure to give my husband and kids hints/direct requests for flowers from Whole Foods!

I am a devoted WF consumer. I've been to WF in Springfield, VA, Fair Lakes, VA, Arlington, VA, Falls Church, VA, McLean, VA, Silver Spring, MD, Washington, DC, Bethesda, MD, NYC, Hartford, CT, Milwaukee, WI, Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Tigard, OR, Atlanta, GA & San Jose, CA. I love getting the feel for each store and what it has to offer. I love the patagonia label for clothing and loved how the Atlanta store had such a large clothing selection. I do wish there were places to try on such lovely clothes. I'm allergic to almost everything under the sun and for awhile the WF that I was frequenting was posting every single ingredient in the prepared foods section. Now they are only posting the top allergy things like eggs, soy, dairy, & wheat. But I'm also allergic to vinegar & sugar and other things. I wish they would repost the ingredient list. It's such a pain to ask and then have them look it up for you. As for Mother's Day, well I bought my mom some lovely big dipper candles. I'm allergic to soy, so it's always nice to have lots of all beeswax candles on hand.

I love visiting the Roseville, CA store! The employees are so friendly and can answer any question I may have. I would say a perfect Mother's Day would be stopping at the Sushi Bar for a California roll, then over to the bakery for a wedge of the best carrot cake topped off with a bottle of Italian Cranberry Soda! This is my first Mother's Day with out my mom (she died 3 weeks ago)and she would have splurged that day so we could spend time together and enjoy the delicious food you all serve.

Theresa DiMatteo says …

As a shopper Wegman's, I can't imagine shopping anywhere else. One of my favorite products is Mother's Toasted wheat germ to be used in either a recipe or by itself. This has been a great resource of vitamins and folic acid. Health conscience all my life, I have faith in Wegman's inventory of picks and truly first hand have experienced the excellent and responsive customer service offered. For an indulgence on Mother's Day (and my birthday 5/10), I will be spending the day with my granddaughter (a gift for me and my daughter) and have picked up another favorite from Wegman's Green & Black's Organic dark chocolate and your homemade prepared meal of meatballs/macaroni. Thank you for servicing us lunch and dinner when I don't feel like cooking. You have actually saved me time to spend with my family and that is priceless. See you on Mother's Day!

I love the Whole Foods Market team - the staff AND great selection really make a difference. I favorite part of the store is the outstanding meat department! The seasoned sausages are to die for, the aged meats, venison, huge shrimp, not to mention custom cuts make the trip worth while. The butchers are friendly and have always answered any questions I may have. Go Whole Foods Go!

I am a Whole Foods Foodie!!! Celebrating Mother's Day is a bit bittersweet for me as I lost my mom last year (sigh)... but to celebrate the day with my daughter I would begin with your beautiful roses, a bottle of Prosecco, and your smoked salmon spread with 365 crackers. Later in the day, cooking dinner begins and I would choose a roasted turkey breast (your turkey is the best ever), an artichoke and asparagus, a caprese salad and a baguette, and end it with your wonderful cheesecake. Did I mention that everything on my list comes from Whole Foods? I can't buy food anywhere else now because I am SPOILED by your quality, freshness and wonderful staff members. I love Whole Foods, and it makes Mother's Day just a bit easier to create a celebration for me!

I love all the fresh baked good at Whole Foods! I bring my 4 kids in and eveyone picks a yummy treat. Much better than pre-packaged junk foodNot only do they look good, they taste sooo good!

I'm glad Whole Foods is in Toronto, it has changed our lifestyle to healthy eating. Everything we use is from Whole Foods.. I even got my family on organic (Took about a year, but finally convinced them!) Try this: Edamame's (for starters), grab some chicken breast, roll it around in Panko (throwing it on the bbq or stove is perfect), broccoli, roasted peppers, salad, top it off with whole food's olive bread, and a cheesecake from their dessert section (thankfully there is some Sugar Free delights as my father is diabetic)!

Denise Lord says …

Bath and skin products always make good gifts for mom, and buying conscientiously always makes things better!

I am adicted to Tea's Tea especially Lemongrass Green and Hoji. Thanks for having more flavors than anyone else. And now I love GTS Kambucha.

I adore Whole Foods. When it first came to town I was intimidated and thought that I certainly couldn't shop somewhere like this that was so fancy. Only the items are fancy, but the prices are quite reasonable and surprise me pleasantly every time. To me, being a mom means arming my sons with lessons on how to live when they are no longer in my nest. Shopping on a budget and also health consciously are 2 of those tools that I arm them with when we visit Whole Foods. They simply can't help but make healthy choices here and that pleases me to no end. Among our favorite products is the 365 Teriyaki Sauce. I have tried several brands' teriyaki sauce looking for just the right combination of flavors and this one seems to hit the mark perfectly. The children LOVE the bakery and on Fridays we treat ourselves to Challah. I could not live without the Udon and Soba Buckwheat noodles as well. They are a staple of my menu. It really should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway, the produce is out of this world. My eldest son of 8 years old loves your store and is always disappointed if I make a grocery run without him. He says that shopping in your stores make him feel healthier and then his brain works better for school. I love that your store makes him feel this way. As far as celebrating myself as a mom...well every Mother's Day I remind myself that I would not be a mother without my children, so I write them cards and we spend the day together. Because I have a wonderful husband and children I can take a little time here and there to do things for myself that are good for the soul as a mom, wife, and person, but on Mother's Day, there is no better way to celebrate than to be with the very ones who call me Mommy.

I love whole foods! It makes me feel healthy just walking in the store! My favorite sections of the store are the cheese section and the olive section. There is such a variety to choose from and they all look so delicious! Happy Mother's Day to all moms!

One day last week, I was having just an absolutely terrible day. When I left work, I said to myself, "the only thing that is going to make me happy right now is Whole Foods..." and so I drove to WF, bought myself some flowers, walked around in the store, and hit up the hot bar and salad bar for dinner. I left the store and couldn't remember why I had been upset all day. True story! I cannot just point out one particular product because I love the entire store; its just an experience to me. But I do love love love the Vita Muffin Tops!

Wendy M. says …

A premade quiche, some precut mixed berries, and Whole Foods organic coffee is the PERFECT way to start my Mother's Day.

Jamie M says …

I adore the Buffalo Bleu Chicken Burgers from the meat department. Add a little Beso del Frego BBQ sauce on a whole wheat bun, and call it a day. My hubby and I will be BBQ'ing these up for Mother's Day dinner with our daughter. We love to take her to Whole Foods. She enjoys waving and saying "Hi" to everyone we encounter. The cheese deparment is always ready with great suggestions for a 15 month old with a pretty sophisticated cheese palate.

Stacey says …

I love the fresh and organic fruit. YUM!!!! I you really can't go wrong with a picnic lunch from the deli counter. There is so much stuff it's hard to choose. I usually go for the brown rice sushi.

tommy says …

I know my mother would love some of the Fair Trade flowers, the excellent in-store marinated goat cheese on some mini toasts and some Pinot Grigio from the wine section. Or you can always get some soaps, or the handmade candles if a food gift is not your thing.

Angie says …

Most moms I know are in need of supplements and vitamins, but do not take the time nor the money to care for themselves properly. Fish Oil, vitamin D, combined with a good book on supplements might be odd as a gift, but certainly mom would see the benefits of caring for herself. BONUS>>>> She will think of you DAILY as she takes her supplements!! Maybe you can also a candle to the gift bag.

I LOVE my reusable Whole Foods lunch box. A few of my other favorite things are the whole catch line (especially the tuna), the vast selection yummy cheeses, and all the local goodies (like produce and my favorite, the gelato). On the flip side, what's not so great - or green - is having to go all the way to Dallas... I do wish you'd open a location in Fort Worth! (Hint! Hint!)

An'El Kleyle says …

I love the flower selection and all the beautiful orchids! And they greeting cards are beautiful.

I like that I can buy items in your regular grocery sections that are marked gluten free or I can read the ingredients and easily tell myself and know I'm safe. I wish you had more gluten free products in your already prepared foods section that are gluten free or at least label the ones that are. Sometimes celiacs need to grab a meal on the run too!

What I love best about Whole Foods is the fresh and delish fruits and veggies...Always wonderful...so a perfect mothers day lunch for me would be Sonoma Chicken salad from the deli and fresh fruit...oohhh yummy...and maybe some fresh lemonade...That with my two beautiful kids would be heaven!

Paula Hayden says …

I buy oats from the bulk bin for budget- friendly homemade granola. My family enjoys the Sigg bottles we purchased at Whole Foods. It's great that we each could choose a design that suits our style. I love shopping at the chocolate section of the store... so many wonderful choices. There isn't a Whole Foods close by, so my family drives about an hour for the variety and quality Whole Foods Market provides.

I would love to have a WHOLE FOODS STORE near me! As it stands I travel about 45 minutes to get to your store :( I would love it if you opened a RESTAURANT along with the store as I would definitely EAT there before shopping! Would make the drive a bit easier to take! :) thanks !

Thanks so much for the opportunity to win as well as for the pod cast! It was so helpful and informative! I actually learned about some new products! As a Mom of 3, 2 toddlers and a teen, I need variety! And I get it at whole foods!! It is my home away from home, I go there not only to shop, but to decompress and escape. I love to just walk around the flowers and the produce section for a quick pick me up. My must haves for me are the whole trade flowers, preferably Lilies & Orchids, Organic Chocolate & Red Wine. I Loove the wine selection! As for my girls, Stonyfield yogurts,365 cereal bars & mini blueberry waffles and my teen loves the bath & beauty section! Thanks again Whole Foods for being Earth conscious and Family friendly:)

Generally love the store but wish you would do a better job of carrying local produce and cutting out the produce that is out of season and being shipped half-way across the world!

Whole Foods has made my life as a mom easier. My son was born with a milk/soy allergy and I don't know how he would have survived without you guys!! People asked me all the time "What on earth can the poor kid eat!?" And my response "A lot! You'd be surprised at what you can find at Whole Foods." Two of my son's favorites are Good Karma Organic Chocolate Rice Milk and Nana's Oatmeal cookies. Plus, my husband and I love that Sunday Morning Bacon and all the good cheeses you have. And, I can't pass the pizza without taking a slice home, so good!! Getting hungry now.

Robert R says …

Since this will be my wife's 'first' Mother's day (baby Z officially arrives in August!) - I am thinking an organic bouquet of flowers and then a something organic I can use to to do a thorough house-cleaning for her while she rests followed up with some delicious take-away Indian food from the hot bar....

KRIS MCCABE says …

I will be very glad to see your Schaumburg store open next summer. Wish it had been Spring 2009 as originally planned. I will be able to shop your fresh fruit section more often!

Robin T says …

I love everything! The 365 pizza is the best! As well as many of the prepared foods when you are in a rush. I also think the quality of fresh fruit and vegetables is fantastic!

I love shopping at Whole Foods Market, since moving to Louisville, KY. There was not one where we lived previously. I have three daughters that I would like to feed as healthy as possible and your store make that all possible. My middle daughter at the age of 18 months old was diagnosed with allergies to milk (of any kind including whey by products) and red dye of any number (40 and 33 especially), she is now four years old. Whole Foods Market makes it easier as well as possible to feed her. She alone eats such products as the 365 pasta mixed with organic red tomatoes and olive oil; the organic blueberry waffles; the mini vanilla waffles; and the Earth's Best product line! As she lives her life hopefully she will be able to start to eat other things, but we are thankful to this, it has started us to eat healthier and hopefully ingrained a love for organic foods. We have found changing over to organic foods not only for the sake of our daughter (more preservatives add to her allergies) but for the sake of our health has been costly and expensive in places but WHOLE FOODS MARKET MAKES THAT ALL POSSIBLE!!!! Thanks so much.

Jennifer says …

I love the baby/kid section as it has a selection of diapers and pull-ups that saved my son's sensitive skin from chemicals that caused nasty reactions. The gDiapers were amazing as a combination reusable & disposable since I don't have access to a washer/dryer in my apartment. Full disposables weren't an option and the gDiapers really were a great alternative for making this mom's life easier. We also enjoy the 365 Everyday Organic frozen mini blueberry waffles for breakfast in the morning. I know we're starting out a busy day with a quick and healthy breakfast. Then at the end of a long day, I indulge in some of the Vosges chocolate. As a single mom, this is truly an indulgence of the best kind! And if you haven't tried their Mo's Bacon Bar, you should. Sounds weird, tastes amazing!

Mary says …

I've already let the dh and kids know that the truffled walnuts you have are DIVINE!

Shelley Colson says …

Whole Foods is my all around #1 choice for shopping. My kids ages 21 & 25 also have become dedicated Whole Food shoppers and that certainly says something!! My choice for Mothers Day gifts would be anything from the FABULOUS Dr Hauschka's line of skin care. The creams are superior! You can see a difference immediately after using these products. I'm hoping for some this Mothers Day!

Suzannah says …

For family gatherings, I need options for the children with food allergies. Whole foods has alphabet shaped french fries without egg or dairy that are a hit with the young kids. There are also egg and dairy-free waffles for a Mother's Day brunch. A fresh fruit salad is always great, too!

Jacqueline McGann says …

My favorite time of day to go to Wholefoods is early in the morning, getting a hot cup of delicious coffee and a cheese danish and sit by the windows while my daughter and I have breakfast and chat before doing our shopping. Without exageration, we spend over a couple of hours in the store most times! The flowers, music and food contribute to a welcoming atmosphere!

Christy Ross says …

as a mom of two under two, any thing that's quick and easy while allowing me to pander myself is A+ in my book -- sometimes all I can manage is a 30 minute bubble bath once a week during nap time. sometimes all I can manage is a bubble bath WITH my 19 month old daughter. Burt's Bees Tear Free Bubble Bath ... pampers us both!
