Thanks for the response Lynda! I am a fan of your book, and look forward to your new work, do you have a release date yet?

lynda says …

I like seeing a dialogue about ways we can help to keep our kids healthy. Bravo!

Thanks for showing the web more about the author, and her views. Her book was an important part of our childhood.

I agree with other posters, Weleda is an amazing company. I first discovered this when I lived in Germany, and when I can find it I snatch it up in the US. I've noticed some Whole Foods have a few of their products.

Glad to hear there is a new book coming up. Once you have become familiar with natural products such as tooth paste and shampoo, it is startling to smell Crest or Head and Shoulders... ouch.

Tess says …

Toothpaste is such an important product to use naturally. Both adults and particularly children swallow a decent amount of paste when brushing.

Love – Green Babies Sage Moms! Great to point out options for kids and for us all to remember to consider these for ourselves as well.

Cathy says …

I to use the Strawberry paste from Toms and my kids love it. We were out and about last week and they had to use crest and cringed.

Susan says …

Thanks for a great video Whole Foods.

I used Weleda’s diaper cream on my two little ones, and it worked wonderfully. I have looked for it to give as a baby shower gift, but have had time finding it at my local WF, they just carry the skin cream. I believe all stores should try to carry the diaper cream, it is the best in the industry.

These are great products. I think it is important to consider organic clothes at least for infants, if not tweens. There is so much less off-gassing, and die issues with good quality organic clothes.

Looking forward to the new book, my youngest is turning 8 this december. Good coverage, I suppose soon enough it will be time for deodorant :)

Hey, good job here! We use several of these products, and always will.

Janet says …

I to agree, Weleda is the best natural product for children.

Margie was wondering about fluoride for kids. Thanks for the question, since this is a hot topic. Some people choose fluoridated toothpastes to re-mineralize soft spots on the teeth and to help prevent cavities. Other people feel fluoride in toothpaste is unnecessary and potentially questionable. At WFM, we offer both fluoridated and non-fluoridated toothpastes to meet all our customers' needs. The American Dental Association (ADA) states "Unless advised to do so by a dentist or other health professional, parents should not use fluoride toothpaste for children less than two years of age." Please go to the ADA's page on this issue for more details, and for tips on safe levels for infants and young children: http://www.ada.org/prof/resources/positions/statements/fluoride_infants.asp

This is good to see. Allot of the natural products are getting back to the root elements people use to use as natural remedies during our grandparents generation.

Nora says …

Thanks for the supplemental info about fluoride, I've always heard different points of view on the subject.

Hanna says …

Great book and great coverage, thanks.

Good stuff. Natural products for the kids skin is the way to go.

Laura says …

Glad to hear the new book is coming out in Jan!

Big fan of the John Masters product line, and have used it for some time now. I can tell you that you won't be disappointed if you explore a natural approach to color.

Malia - thanks for the ADA link. I would think if it is not reccomended for 2 year olds it is likely not any better for a 3 + year old. I think I'll stick to fluoride as it is supplied in the water.

Diane says …

I appreciate the info on fluoride, I feel that the dentists and the natural health community provide differing perspectives and it is always best to have as much info as possible then reflect.

Kelly says …

Great book. I'm glad the will be another, and we can find products like these more an more as time goes by..

Honey says …

Great to see this group action from these teens!

Gian says …

Heather says …

Thanks to Malia above on the info concerning fluoride, solid link.

I really like this book, and appreciate that you are promoting its concepts. Kids are so creative, if they get their brains around conservation we will all benefit!

Wendy B says …

I really like the ideas put forth here and feel like they are simple actions we can all take.

Rory says …

Nice concept! lynda is right on!!!

My boy is starting to reach the age for deodorant. We'll give this a shot first.

harris says …

Great to put forth this conversation. The minds of tweens can pick this up and run with it!

Deon says …

As many natural products as you can afford to use the better. It really is a health and lifestyle switch which adds to the longevity and quality of life.

Emilio Zulkowski says …

Top-notch, as usual. Thanks!

Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification appeared to be on the net the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider worries that they just don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
