Are you a blogger with a knack for delicious, healthful recipes that kids love? We want to hear from you! We’re challenging food and family bloggers to show us how you whip up summer treats for kids using delicious, nutrient-dense cherries. If this sounds up your alley, visit our contest page and enter your best kid-friendly cherry recipe for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree at Whole Foods Market! (See the contest page for the official rules.) The deadline for blogger entries is July 13th so start pitting! Of course, we don’t want non-bloggers to feel left out and we know you don’t have to be a blogger to appreciate sweet cherries. So here’s your special treat: organic cherries available for only $2.99 per pound tomorrow only, Friday, July 8th. Now’s the perfect time for cherry lovers everywhere to pick up some of summer’s best for a weekend picnic, casual snack, salad topper or sweet dessert – get some recipe ideas here. And, of course, ripe, juicy cherries are a delightful way to sweeten up snack time while sneaking in some antioxidants, vitamin C and potassium. Stay tuned to find out who the finalists are in the Kid-Friendly Cherry Recipe Contest for Bloggers and try their creations for yourself!

My most versatile staple has to be canned tuna. I can use it with pasta to make cold salads, and it makes a great sandwich by adding boiled eggs, onions, pickles and condiments. When a hot dish is preferred, it stands out in a casserole.
