Simple Summer Sandwiches

Whether it’s grown-up grilled cheese, halvies for your half-pints or picnic perfect pita pockets, mastering sandwich-making is a must if you want to keep meals simple but flavorful this summer. This is the time to incorporate seasonal stars like strawberries, cucumbers from the garden and grilling greats like summer squash, portabello mushrooms and swordfish.

Nothing beats a simple grilled cheese and I love to try many different cheeses from the cheese shop at Whole Foods.

I love to do a BLT with a fried egg and avocado on top! We use gluten free bread and the eggs are from our small backyard flock.

Mine is sort of a super sandwhich you might say. First you get a slicce of whole wheat bread and spread a special mixture of steak sauce(perfurbly A-1) and manniouse. Then you add turkey, lettuce, tomatoe, chedder cheese, bacon, a dash of hot sauce, shrimp, chedder cheese, turkey, and the bread with the sauce. Hope you like it!

My fav sandwhich is pretty stacked with all kinds of veggies on some whole five grain wheat bread spread some homemade hummus then add some avocado slices lots of spinach and sprouts add some cucumbers bell peppers pickles and some juicy tomatoes.

My favorite is my Avocado Sandwich. Toast a couple of slices Ciabatta bread. Top with sliced avocado, cilantro and tomato. Top with cheese and broil until it melts. Eat open-faced.

My favorite sandwich is a black forest ham and cajun roasted turkey breast with romaine lettuce, honey mustard dressing, 2 slices of hothouse tomatoes on toasted 7 grain bread.
