We are always looking or ways to do better for the environment in our daily living. By adding greener products into the mix, our home would not only be better for the environment, but also better for our family. Actually using the products and seeing that they do a good job is all I would need to go green.

Next week I am moving in with my girlfriend after being together for 3 years! (The best part is that we will be two blocks from Whole Foods!) One of the qualities I admire most about her is her sense of responsibility for the earth and its future. She has gotten me into composting, recycling our #5 plastics (at Whole Foods of course) and bringing old clothing to a textile recycling drop-off. One thing that I have not done yet though is go green with my cleaning products. As we create our new household, I think starting fresh with a gift basket of eco-friendly cleaning products will be a perfect symbol of caring for our future together. And I may even offer to clean the bathroom!

"Green," "recycled/recyclable," and "organic" are everyday words in my vocabulary... I've got a young child, pets and the environment they grow up in to think about! As I continue the transition to green cleaning, I'm always looking for new, effective products to use.

I try to make our home as green as possible. Not only is it for my family's health, but I'm trying to teach my son at a young age that we need to protect the planet because it's our home. If being green is something he can grow up doing then someday when he's out on his own he can influence other people and his own family to do the same. I'm trying to encourage future green-ness one little person at a time!

Angela G says …

I have 2 kids and a few pets. I know that green is best but as a single mom on a tight budget sometimes I have to hit the dollar tree for products. I would love to win this to make a toxic free home for my kids and pets :) Thanks

Guadalupe says …

I would love to be able to win this basket because I try to buy as much as I can but their cost is too high for my budget. I am the only money-earner in my household and it makes it difficult.

My house needs a total green makeover - I have recently moved my dad from his apartment into a memory-support unit at a local senior housing complex. I have his stuff integrated with mine - and I need to CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN OUT!!!

Rafal madys says …

My wife already spends all our extra money on organic shampoos, soaps, and cleaning products.. But hey a basket filled with cleaning products instead of colored eggs would be terrific :)

Patti says …

I've been using green cleaning products for years because I want to do what's right for the planet. It's also much safer for pets and people. After switching to green, you will become assaulted by the chemicals when you walk into a place that was just cleaned with traditional cleaners - no thank you! And to think we were once used to that!

Aileen Janu Mannick says …

I've been doing pretty good with reusable bags and cups but realized I could use some work in improving my eco-cleaning supplies. Would love to win some freebies to get my momentum rolling.

Elisabeth says …

I'm inspired to give my home a greener clean by my children. I want to make sure they are not only in a clean environment, but also protected against being exposed to any toxins. I would love to try some new sponges or rags!

Heather Miko-Kelly says …

We have a new baby in the house, and I am committed to making our house greener! It's important to me that she's not exposed to chemicals, and it starts with cleaning products!!

Ana says …

I'd love to win this set of green cleaning products! We've been updating our cleaning habits at home to include more friendly products and less harsh chemicals. I have an 8 month old, and as his mobility increases it's more and more important to make sure he's scooting across baby-friendly (which usually coincides with Earth-friendly!) surfaces, free of toxic compounds that could adversely affect him.

Catherine says …

I'd like to give my home a greener clean because I think it's time people stop using harsh chemicals to clean. these are harmful to us but also to our planet earth. We only have one planet earth, and we must take care of her like we would with our own family. Giving my home a greener clean will help me to show people around me that green cleaners are efficient and earth-friendly at the same time. GO GREEN !

joi miffat says …

I want to reduce my families carbon footprint. with 5 children and lots of chores, we all have major resposibility and we owe it to our planet to protect and preserve for our children's health and future. no more toxins!

Irene says …

I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. I get frequent and severe migraines from chemical fragrances. I would love to stop using all chemicals in my home, but it's often challenging to find chemical-free products that are effective (i have yet to find a glass cleaner that doesn't leave streaks). It's costly to keep experimenting with all the brands out there to find one that will actually work.

KAREN Capasso says …

Thank you Wholr FOODs for your concern! I am so excited to see green cleaning products! Karen

Celeste - MetryChick.com says …

I would love to switch to green cleaners but it is baby steps and I feel guilty buying new products when I still have some old ones. Help me!

Bridgett says …

It would be easier if they were more accessible at the stores by my house. Whole Foods is a 40 minute drive for us so we rarely go unless we happen to be in the area and I haven't seen any of these products at our local stores.

My husband and I live in a very small apartment in an old building that is very dusty and difficult to keep clean. Allergies have become a major problem despite the fact that I try to use all-natural products whenever possible. My husband is disabled and I, at 58, am in college for the first time after being laid off 2 years ago, so our finances are pretty slim.

Heather says …

I've wanted to try more green cleaners, but I've been unsure which ones are actually green. These are some great suggestions to get me started! Thanks Whole Foods!

Wendy Foote says …

My husband and I love green cleaning products. It just makes sense...and with me expecting our first child in September, I'm in full "Nesting" mode and starting to stock up on products that are safe not only for us and the environment, but are also safe for baby.

kimberly.h says …

I would love to get these products to use in our home..our very first home that we have ever owned!! We have 3 kids..5,2 1/2, and 6 months. I hate having to expose them to bleach and other chemicals while cleaning. I try my best not to use them to often, but sometimes it seems like others just dont get things clean. We are a very natural family in the sense of our bodies...but not in our home so far...I'm ready for the change!

Melodie Ashley says …

In Salt Lake City, recycling is largely unavailable in apartment complexes. Each week, I must load up my Subaru and deliver the recyclables to be properly reused. I often wonder if the gas and travel are more harmful to the Earth than not recycling at all. My apartment needs the love of Earth-friendly products to make up for its lack of recycling availability. Thank you.

Peggy Morris says …

Recently, I've been having trouble using "conventional" cleaning products and have been trying to go to the green products. I find them easier to use and they leave my areas not only clean but smelling wonderful. The added plus is that I am not sick after using them! I would LOVE to win a basketful of items to use.

Evette says …

As human beings, it is our responsibility to be the caretakers of this planet we call home. Every small effort adds up. I want my children to learn that it all begins at home. By using 'green' products in our home, our children grow accustomed to the fact that there really are no other choices but the right ones. I'd love to win this gift basket as a tool to help raise earth-friendly, responsible kids into the same type of adults.

I could use a Green Makeover. My father-in-law is allergic to many detergents and also the chemicals used to clean upholstery. It would be nice to have him over without worrying about whether or not the towel(s) we use to cover wherever he chooses to sit have been thoroughly rid of chemicals. I also own 2 dogs and 3 cats (big house!). A couple of our friends are allergic to cats. It would nice to see if green products work (and smell) better than the harsh things I use to clean the house enough for these friends to come over. (And yes, the poor kitties are confined to the basement before/during when these friends are over.) Thank You.

jessica mccue says …

I love your products I make my once a month trip out to whole foods just to stock up! I started really going green after my daughter was born with celebral palsy. The cleaner the air and enviorment for her the better off.My favorite thing is the green shield wipes I even take them when we travel and out to eat they are so good. The products are a little more pricer than the regular ones found in the grocery but the long term effects are so much more worth it!!!

Dana says …

I've been slowly working on changing things over to Earth friendly practices...I take my own bags to the store, I've learned to conserve water in small ways, etc. Recently, I went on a detoxification diet which includes ONLY natural and organic food products. I'm amazed at the difference. In a week and a half I lost 7 lbs of hard to lose weight, the ringing in my ears stopped, and my asthma/allergies have SIGNIFICANTLY decreased. The next step in eliminating toxins is environmental...removing chemicals from the home (cleaning supplies, deodorants, etc.) I honestly hadn't realized how much doing the right thing for the planet meant doing the right thing for me, too.

Stephanie says …

My best life is a natural one, and that means simplifying both the way that I eat and the way that I clean. With all of the disease that is so prevalent because of the drugs that we ingest and are exposed to, including the harsh chemicals in traditional cleaners, it only makes sense to live naturally!

Meghan says …

I try to use green cleaners as much as possible but because they're much more expensive than the toxic ones, and because I am a poor student, I can't always afford them. Winning this would really help me out!

Cody says …

I have bad allergies and sensitivities, so a lot of standard cleaners irritate me and/or make me lightheaded!

Elisa says …

I've always wondered how all the chemicals in regular cleaning products truly affects the environment around us especially having two young children and four pets. The basket of green cleaning products would be a great way to "kick start" our household in living green.

Tina says …

We've already made the switch. I'm continually amazed at the smell that I used to think was clean, was simply a chemical smell. Real clean is nothing at all!

Lauren W says …

I want to be able to keep my house clean without having that harsh smell lingering, especially around the kids. I recently tried Green Works and Method products and I am slowly switching my cleaners and laundry detergents over. I am always looking for new eco-friendly products and ideas!

Jennifer says …

I am inspired to give my home a green makeover, because I just had a my first baby. Now I see everything in a new light, and I want only the best, cleanest, safest products around her. I also want to teach her that we share this planet, and we need to be responsible and take care of it. That's why I recently switched from disposables to cloth diapers. I want her to inherit a beautiful, clean earth, so she, her children, and her children's children can enjoy the oceans, the shade of an old tree, hiking, rainy days, the snow, summer picnics and all the beauty and joy nature has to offer! (Maybe a little cheesy, but you get that way when you have a baby!)

SophiaM. says …

I want to switch to greener cleaner products for the saftey of my family and pets. Cleaning can be effecient without all the harsh chemicals. You get what you pay for. Choosing smart now will help in the long run, this goes with food, cosmetics, as well as cleaning supplies!

Sharlene says …

Living greener is an important part of everyone's life. Teaching greener living is an important lesson to teach the children. Hopefully enough people will pick up the reins so we have something left to pass on to the future generations.

Jen B says …

I'd love to give my house a green makeover. In order to switch, I'd have to know that they are green and will actually clean as well, if not better, than other cleaners. With kids and pets, I'd like to switch over to greener products for them, but I have to know that the green products work well

tammie says …

i would love to have the knowledge to know what to look for and how to pick it out. i've made a point to get my rain barrels, compost bin and recycle whatever i can, but household cleaners/items can be a bit of a mystery. i would LOVE a starter basket!! it would do the guess work for me and i could keep it going from there!!

Sue Rao says …

Good for earth and me.. Win-win

kristopher says …

I am currently going back to school for marine ecology and dont have much money to drive to more populated areas that have a greater environmental awareness. In the town i live in Walmart is the one show pony, and i try my best to avoid them. My selection here is very limited. I do entertain a lot of guests from school and think that i could raise aweraness by example, also i could stand to learn a great deal by being introduced to better cleaning alternatives. Thanks~ Happy Earth Day

Cecelia says …

i'm trying to causally go green for my allergies and my cats health and most importantly for the enviorment

Jessica P. says …

I've recently made the switch...ever since I had my daughter and was cleaning our Bathroom one day and reliazed the odor of bleach was making a haze throughtout our house...I opened all the windows and decided enough of this poison! I follow a site called safemama.com and they have changed my world to GREEN. They did a article on Better Life cleaning products and I decided to give them a try...I AM HOOKED!! Best thing since sliced bread. My daughter loves to help me clean and I feel 100% comfortable w/ her doing so...I will also only use Twist sponges since BetterLife sells them too. I would love, love to win a Green Basket...right in time for Spring Cleaning!

I use cut lemons on the sink/cutting boards. White vineagar and baking soda in the drain and sink. Leftover cola cleans my toilets and I have shined up appliances/fixtures with a banana peel. Love the Earth, it's only on loan to us!

Michele Kaplan says …

I am a huge fan of going green, one of course because of my environment and two because of it being beneficial to my health, opposed to the rather toxic "non-green" cleaning products. Unfortunately, I live in an area where not only is going green considerably more expensive (I live on a fixed income due to illness) but it's just not made available in my area. Recently, I've seen some sorta semi-green products but then I read an article saying they really aren't green as they claim to be. I would love nothing more then to win the gift basket, as not only would I keep some of it for myself so I could really give my apartment a clean green makeover (which makes me giddy because these products tend to smell nice and yet I don't have problems breathing while using them) but I would also see if my local disability center could use some of it as well. I am a big fan "going green" as they say and I always recycle, buy organic when I can afford to do and when it is made available in my local market (which isn't always the case.) as well as activism (of all kinds) but that certainly includes environmental activism. To win this gift basket would be quite awesome and allow me to make my apartment a healthier place (while helping the earth). be well.

Beata Petro says …

By now I changed most of my cleaning stuff for green (mostly Ecover) which I love. I have birdies (cockatiels) at home. They make a big mess everyday, they also poop a lot! I really think the best what I can do for them and for my family is using totally green cleaning products. Unfortunatley we don't have Whole Food Market in Hungary yet but I would be happy to try out and use some other brands which are not available here.

Adrienne says …

I'd love there to be more coupons for 'green' cleaners. Regular cleaners can be so cheap with coupons that it can be hard to pass up a good deal. Plus, I have a hard time getting passed the mentality that bleach = clean.

Libby says …

I've spent the last few years dealing with chronic fatigue and chronic pain. One of the things that's helped is eliminating as many unnecessary chemicals from my life as I can. Since switching up household products, eating more organic foods, filtering all my water, etc, etc, I can see some definite improvements in my health!

kimberly Masseau says …

First of all, thank you for such a wonderful opportunity. I have actually already began to replace household cleaners with more environmentally friendly products. I have a grandchild, as well as pets and I hate the thought of them getting into, or being around toxic cleaners. I use vinegar and soda alot in my cleaning routine as well as citrus and essential oils making "homemade" cleaning products. I also make my own laundry soap. I would love to try these products!! Thank you again for the opportunity!!
