I am inspired to have a greener life--and kitchen--to take care of the planet and my family. I am trying to phase everything into greener cleaners as I run out. I do not want the toxins in my house and would love a green makeover!

My husband and I made a concious decision to watch what we put into our bodies. We recycle everything we can and make sure we do our part to even re-use some items we purchase. But just recently I noticed that some of the household cleaners we use may not be safe for our health or our cat's health. These products could help us take another step towards bettering our health as well as our environment.

I am definitely scared about my family being awash in chemicals - and feeling pretty helpless about controlling the flood of poisons into our house and the effect on my family. There is so much information to absorb. Trying to make changes and feeling good about every baby step I take. Thanks for helping me in this process.

I'm inspired to make my home cleaning products green, because of our recent addition to our family! From our bath tub where we bathe our daughter, to the floors she crawls on I would love to know that it is safe!

I have been caught up in the web of the 'bleach smell' my whole life, whenever I smell bleach, my mind thinks, "totally clean and antibacterial". I have to get out of that mindset, realize that clean doesnt' have to burn my lungs or irritate my eyes to sanitize. That some germs are even ok! I've been working with my family to compost, turn off lights, we let our grass grow a little longer to cut less, drive less and so on and an overhaul with our cleaning products will fit in with our new 'greener ' lifestyle we're trying to achieve. I want a world for my children that is not polluted from people of my generation. I want eco friendliness to be a natural thing for my children to live by. Thank you!

I live on my own in the city. I usually picked my product by price. I alway try to do the best for the environment as I can. I recently adopted my cat and I am a huge clean freak. I worry about what I use for her sake and yet keeping my place clean. I would love to try these products to keep my cat and I happy!

Michelle Seipel says …

I usually don't buy cleaning supplies. I use ordinary stuff like vinegar, baking soda, socks, old towels etc. I would love to win this basket! I try to be conscience of my environment as much as I can! Happy Earth Day!!!

the products would be great to clean with, as well as safe enough for the consumers and environment in terms of contents and packaging. coupons towards other products attached would be helpful as well. more importantly, cost would have to be reasonable to rival conventional household cleaners we're all familiar with already.

I work in a school and see how many chemical products kids are exposed too. Everything from l cleaners used to clean their desks and lockers to their lunch tables. I can't help but wonder if this is causing problems. I strive to keep my home green and my family safe from chemicals as much as possible. I would love to win these products to use in my home as well as suggest the possibility of using some safer things in the school around all those little ones.. You never know, it might happen!

April Sanders says …

I would LOVE to win the green products because I have a toddler and a new baby on the way. With my 22 month old daughter I am always cleaning and water alone and vinegar mixtures just don't cut it much of the time. I'd love to know that I'm not leaving a chemical trail behind. And with my new one due in a few weeks, I'd like my house to be clean without any harmful fumes since new lungs are very sensitive. I always talk about taking care of the earth and using these green products will help me to know that I'm being a great example for my children.

We have been inspired, or rather 'required', to become a greener family because of our son's autism. Even though it has been a struggle it has also been a blessing in disguise because through it we have learned how everything- the food we eat, the cleaning & hygiene products we use- affects our bodies and it has benefited our entire family. I agree with the comment on the higher prices- even though we realize the importance of cleaning green & buying better food it is hard because of the price difference, but we see it as an investment in our children's health.

Gielna says …

Using Eco-friendly cleaning products is just as important as choosing organic food: that way we take care of our health and the health of our planet inside and out. I have a lot of knowledge about natural food, but would really like to learn more and start using green products to clean my house. Happy Earth Day!

Michelle Scherer says …

I have a 10 month old baby, and I worry about him breathing the chemicals associated with regular cleaning products. I want the best for him -- better than I was willing to do for myself. Since having a baby, going "green" has become very appealing!

Nancy says …

I am inspired to use greener products because of my 14-month old daughter. I want to keep things as checmical free for her health and her future. I want her growing up knowing that everything you chose to do has an effect on the environment as well as your health and you should aspire to be good to both :) I already try to use greener products, but would love to win!

Patty doman says …

To win this prize!I would love to give it a try!

Winnie says …

I've always tried to switch most of my cleaning products to more Eco friendly ones after I noticed my skin and my son's were having a bad reaction to regular products but what made that transition more from a want to a need was when it was confirmed by my allergist that we are allergic to pesticides so switching became necessary.

Melanie says …

The idea of using harsh chemicals (poison?) around my children makes me shudder!

Amy says …

I already use earth friendly products, but more the GREENER!!! They are great for the environment, my toddler and our cat! On the pricey side, but so worth it! We recycle, compost, donate and reuse as much as we can. I (we) do what we can in our household for a beautiful earth now and for future generations. Happy Earth Day!

Lori says …

Products that are safe around my family and pets are very important to me. I do not like products that carry chemicals that I cant even pronounce. I also dont like waste, products that are safe for the enviroment are very important too

Lora R. says …

We could use a green makeover. We suffer from allergies and I have 2 young children and I know using green products would help with some of our allergies. I like using green product because of my children and have some, but would like to try other green products as well. Thanks for the giveaway!

Deepa says …

We've been using vinegar and baking soda to clean and deodorize for a while. And neem oil too. Non toxic, easy to use and leaves no residues. Good for all of us and the planet. I've been skeptical of commercial products which claim to be green. They have to be really, totally green for me to buy them!

Andrea says …

I already use green cleaning products (including Ecover and Seventh Generation). They both have a comparable price tag. The only problem is that SOME green products don't have the same capabilities as conventional products, for example, hydrogen peroxide bleach vs chlorine bleach. Both are great disinfectants but hydrogen peroxide just isn't as good at removing stains.

Cody says …

I love using all natural and eco friendly products. It would be awesome to get this gift basket to try out the amazing products, and have other people that I know try them out as well.

Linda Willoughby says …

I have decided to go green and this would be a great start.I use old fashioned ideas like baking soda and vinegar. This will can introduce a whole new way of life to my cleaning routine.

Kristi Mcgregor says …

I passionate about slowly, step by step turning my entire life more green by the end of 2011. From switching to natural cosmetics, recycling etc, I'm making changes. I am especially excited about switching over to all green cleaning products as I am expecting my first baby the end of the year and I want to keep my environment and it's as pesticide free as possible.

Mary Jo Gall says …

I am very interested in converting my cleaning products and habits to a greener version of what I currently use. I would be convinced to switch if the products were: 1) at least as effective as conventional choices, 2) easy to use, 3) moderately priced, and 4) available at my favorite store - Whole Foods! :D

Chrissy says …

hi there! I am turning over a new leaf everywhere in my life! I have learned so much about non-green products that it is scary. I plan on throwing out ALL chemical, non green products-but that is an expensive task. This would go a long way to help insert better products into our home with three young children! THank you for doing this!

mary teich says …

We are green at heart and need to be more in our home. Our two year old son is having his one year anniversary of being on a ventilator and thriving. He is the reason to keep our house toxin free and clean. Any chemicals he could react from. The ventilator with tracheostomy. We have three kiddos and a home we have built. We Would use these products to keep our house a home of chemical free cleanliness :) with all the bills we have become self sustaining by buying chicks we will organically raise for meat and a greenhouse which is our first year! We would like to add a greenHome to it :) thank you for considering us :) Rafe,Mary, hannah, henry and lucien

Kara says …

I am a mother of 2 young children. Every time I clean, there bathroom especially, I feel the need to switch over to green products. Just using what I use now and smelling the fumes as I clean makes me realize the importance of how bad it is for your health and the environment. I do anything I can to help keep the earth green for the future of my children. Using green cleaning products I know will help. It is hard to know which product is good and which is not. Getting a jump start on these products will for sure help me.

Frannie says …

We are a green family. We recycle every month and reduce as much as possible. I am inspired by my kids, we are about to have our second child that we are doing cloth diapers on. So what better way to go green for their health and the planets with cleaning products.

Caitlyn Smtih says …

I love green products but can't normally afford them. We use low VOC paint, we recycle what ever we can, and I would like to make a compost pile eventually. We also have energy saver appliances and some day I will put a clothes line. My husband would love to plant a garden out back to further save costs, but we have not had the time yet. I would love to use green products because they are not only safe for the environment, but also for my kids and pets.

I can't stand conventional cleaners, they aggravate my asthma. Kinder cleaners are better for YOU and better for the environment!

My live-in Girlfriend of 4 years just found out she has skin and food allergies to over 600 things! She is now only allowed to used certain soaps, detergents, and cleaners, as well as a huge change in her diet. So we need to start using safer items in our home so her skin will not flair up and risk a trip to the ER. Having a stocked cupboard with safe items, so we can get rid of all the old dangerous stuff will definately put us on the right track, for the health and well being for the woman I love and the planet we all share.

Cleaner air, cleaner living. It really gives me a boost to use a green product; I feel like I'm contributing to our environment and my home in the best way possible! And it's great NOT to be coughing and feeling side effects from all those chemicals. I do it for my family, and I do it for me.

Rox Church says …

When I was a kid and would help my mom clean the house at home, I would always end up with a tight chest and that whistling sound. Obviously we didn't know that it was due to the fumes of the chemicals used in cleaning products. Well we know better now, and since I take care of my family today by cooking everything from scratch, organic and healthy. By exercising regularly and staying away from smokers, I also want to keep a safe environment at home using green, safe cleaning products. BUT I don't like to use vinegar so I am always looking for better solutions.

Elisabeth Wyrembelski says …

In our home, we have three young children. It is not just our Earth that we are trying to preserve, but theirs. We are also trying to teach them respect and love for this planet and all of it's inhabitants (people, animals, and plants). "Actions speak louder than words." In using green products, in our home, we help to maintain cleanliness without destroying habitats and health. Lastly, in trying to balance our budget with green products...we have to consider the cost of the damage we do with many regular products. Not easy, but worthwhile.

Kim says …

We switched to "green" products after our son was diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Noone knows why this happens to children, but I feel it's due to many of the chemicals we cook and clean with. No only is it better for the environment to use these products, it is healthier to use and they work just as great as the "not so green" products!

Michelle Hammond says …

It wouldn't take much at all.I'm doing everything else possible to make my body and home greener.I'm vegetarian(almost vegan),don't eat GMO foods, recycle, reuse and conserve, yet cleaning products have seemed to have fallen to the wayside. This would be an awesome opportunity to treat mother earth a little more kindly:) Every day is Earth day!!!

Amy says …

I shop at Whole Foods atleast 3x/week, take my own eco-friendly bags & would love to try the cleaners. I want my family & pets to be as safe of toxins & as healthy as possible! Living w/a house full of males (4)it is hard for them to understand what I am trying to do for them! Slowly converting them w/o them even knowing..lol Happy Earth Day!

Lori Ellison says …

As a teacher and a mother I want to leave the planet better than I found it. This is one simple step in that direction as I continue the quest to go completely green. I will teach it to my family & students and they will pass it on!

Wendi Trotter says …

I LOVE the new eco cleaning products! I use Method cleaning products. I have kitties and now I don't worry about them 'discovering' while I'm cleaning. I've also switched to using old worn out t-shirts for rags for dusting and wiping. It's good to be green!

Cheryl French says …

As a person who has had a lifetime of allergies and skin problems, I have tried to keep my home as chemical free as possible. Whole Foods has become my store of choice to find products that will help me reach my goal and will provide healthy options for my family. I know Whole Foods buyers seek out products to not only give me those options, but will also keep the planet clean for future generations.

Claire says …

I have a new grandson and I think it is important to use green products around him. I have started slowly changing over.

Allison says …

I used green products because I want to protect my family's health.

Lauren Hawley says …

I think it would be if they worked as well as the other products. I'd like to try them but am afraid I would pay a lot of money and they don't work. I would like to win so that I can try them and then continue to use them if I like the way the products work.

Corey Peck says …

I have slowly been converting my conventional cleaning products to the green version but it can be expensive. I'd love to have a cleaning caddy makeover so I can go green all the way and provide a safer home for my family and pets (and save the environment at the same time). Thanks for your consideration!

vinny says …

I'm learning more about living green and not only its good for the enviroment but its also a way to explore options in a smart eco way. Recycle, Reuse.. I always love this slogan! And above all, OUR planet is gonna thank us!

Alison James says …

I cannot use those chlorox wipes anymore, they stink! Good to know there are options out there.

Hannah H. says …

Right now, it pretty much all the cleaning products in my house are not green. I want to switch over because I don't believe the chemicals in generic cleaning products can be good for anybody or anything.
