Every summer, we host a lemonade stand to support Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, to fight children's cancer. July 4th weekend we set up and are out there all day. Last year we raised over $2000. My daughter's favorite drink is to mix the yellow and pink lemonade to make orange. For the grown-ups, we make sun-tea and limeade.

I have finally perfected my Thai Tea using a splenda / brown sugar mix, and YUM! but MY favorite drink that I can ONLY make in the summer is steeped black tea with a sprig of mint from my garden (which grows profusely in summer!). I learned that the oils from the stem are what flavor the tea, and it is SURPRISINGLY refreshing! (I wouldn't have believe it if I hadn't tried it myself because I don't care for packaged mint tea, ick!) REFRESHING is the only way to describe it!

This is from my 6 year old son James - a Whole Foods Reston regular from birth :-) "I squeeze some organic lemons and my mommy makes special syrup (simple syrup with WF cane sugar) then we put it into our special jar and add water and ice and that's our lemonade stand. The key to making lemonade is the special syrup." Come by anytime for a GREAT glass of James, Jackson and Erik's Lemonade.

Iced green tea. Yummy. Add some refreshing honey and ginsing for a sweet and zesty sparkle. Maybe even let a slice of peach float in the top for some peachy flavor. Green tea never let's my mind, body, and soul down. :)

My absolute fave drink would have to be an Apersol Spritz that I have had to learned to make here in Toronto. I first experienced this beautiful drink that is truly the essence of Summer in a glass while vacationing in Venice last year...now I think drink & Summer...I make this drink. It contains Apersol, Sparkling Wine/Prosecco, Fresh cut fruit (mostly oranges), Perrier and garnished with a green olive. If I where to think of a drink that reminds me of Summer that is non-alcoholic...I would have to think a classic ICED Tea with agave or coconut nectar to sweeten. I would use black tea and brew a really strong batch, mix with both lemon and lime, touch of mint and single cinnamon stick to help with rounding out the flavour. Add the sweetening and chill! Garnish with slices of lemon and lime..delish!
