Love is a beautiful gift. It does not require anything of its recipient, but rather pursues the one it desires. True love seeks relationship. The person who has displayed this amazing love in my life has been my husband, my best friend.

This Valentines Day is going to be extra hard for me. My husband is preparing for his second deployment. He is truly an American Hero! He has two jobs so I don't have to work. He is always doing nice things for me and other people. He is the perfect role model for our 5 year old daughter. I hope he returns home safe and soon.

My husband is my special Valentine. He is my best friend. He understands me and listens to me. He is very supportive. I have really needed that support as my mother died two months ago.

Samantha says …

My mother is my Valentine. I've always been hers; she has sent me treats and flowers every year I've been away and has always given me a sweet card on Valentine's Day. She has such a big heart and I would love the chance to give back a little, after all she's always given me. And this year, I am most thankful and happy to have such a wonderful mom who is here this Valentine's Day; she's absolutely one of my best friends... the one I call when anything good or bad happens, and she's always there for me, she always has been. This year, I had the opportunity to be there for her. Over the summer, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer. I have never liked that word, who does? But I had never felt it resonate so deeply inside myself before. It was frightening and upsetting; it made me angry, it made me cry, and it scared me; it truly struck fear deep in my heart, as they say. I can't imagine life without my mom and I can't imagine something like cancer taking her away from us. If there's a way to be fortunate in a cancer diagnoses, my mother was. It was in an early stage, she chose to have aggressive treatment, and her surgeon was successful in removing the cancer. I remember sitting in the waiting room while she was in surgery and my I remember how many things my heart went through that day. It was pounding while I worried about her, my heart was hurting knowing she had to go through this, it was full with support we received, and it was beaming and fluttering when her surgeon came out and kindly explained that my mom was alright. Stepping back in the story, my mother has always been healthy. She's been shopping for organic meat, produce, milk and eggs since before it was cool to do so. She's always told us to be careful about what we put in our bodies; so I think the blow of cancer was even more shocking since she is so healthy. We always had veggies at dinner; no matter how tired she was from work or whatever else in the day, my brother and I always had a healthy meal in the evening when we had dinner together. So, eating well and being aware of what goes into her body has always been important to my mom. And now, she has even more reason to ensure that she's eating well and doing what she can to protect herself from cancer coming back. My mom loves Whole Foods, and I couldn't imagine a better gift I could give her than something full of goodies she can enjoy from Whole Foods. I'm so thankful to have her here, I'm so thankful that she's always taught me the importance of eating good foods, and I would love the opportunity to give a little bit back to her; both to make her heart and her body happy to receive such good, sweet things. Given how much our hearts have been through this year, of course my mom is my Valentine; she gave me my heart and she taught me how to use it.

I am incredibly blessed to have a husband as a valentine- we are currently in two different states, and he makes sure we talk every night. As he is house hunting, he wants my opinion on every decision that matters to us. And as I'm working full time and going to school, he does his best to emotionally support me.

Christy Birge says …

My Valentine's Day will be special this year not because of a romantic relationship. As a matter of fact, this will be my first Valentine's Day in 11 years as a single person. However, this will be the best one in years because I am a single mom in the last semester of grad school. For two year, I have juggled 2 kids, grad school, a full-time job, and my daughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease, which has forced a lifestyle change in the midst of everything else. Whole Foods has been a Godsend to us in helping us adjust to a gluten-free lifestyle! So this year, I am thankful for all I have on Valentine's Day. My life is truly filled with love and blessings.

My Valentine is my lovely boyfriend of 4 years Eric. He has been there always - up, down, and sideways. He completes my life in a way that cannot be expressed but wished upon everyone on earth. Happiness is my Valentine, and my Valentine is the best one there is!

Cassandra London says …

My Valentine would be my loving Mother who not only raised eight biological children of her own and after that she gave the greatest gift to four lucky small children whom she adopted. We all pitched in to give them something they were lacking in their young lives which was a loving home and a caring family to call their very own. All my younger siblings are all grown up now and doing very well for the theirselves might I ask. They forever grateful to us all Especially Mom for they don't know how their lives would have turned out. Just wish Mom could see how her unselfish love that she gave was a job well done. She in her late stages of Alzheimer's but still strong at 82yrs young.

Latoya Regaldo says …

My Valentine is my husband. He is my best friend and my soul mate. He is my quote movie buddy and is the only one I know who remembers the old McDonald commercial of McWorld and says it whenever either of us says "Hey, it can happen." He makes a crummy work day better and gives the best back rubs. He makes me fall in love with him all over again when he reaches out for me in his sleep. He will complain about the cats annoying him but in the next instant will have them cradled up in his arm because he can't resist their cute little face begging to be picked up. I could give so many examples of why I love him and a majority of them would point out what a nerd he can be but the number one thing is that makes him my Valentine is that he makes me feel so special and loved really that’s what Valentine's Day is about.

Chelsea says …

My Valentine is my boyfriend, Spencer. We grew up together and I never thought that we would be where we are now. We started dating a couple years ago and he is so good to me. He seriously is the perfect man.

Ashley says …

kkaye says …

My valentine is goofy, fabulous and kind; clever, silly, perceptive, reflective, patient, witty and wise. Great cook, hilarious dancer, killer baby blue eyes. But the most wonderful thing about him Is that he says he's mine!

Joe R. says …

My Valentine is and will always be my new bride. We just got married in August. Everyday all I can think is I should have asked her years ago. She does so much for us. I should make every 14th her Valentine's Day, just to show her how much I appreciate and love her.

Kim says …

My boyfriend is my valentine. We just had a baby together who turned two months old today. He has far exceeded my expectations of what a dad could be. Our baby was 100% planned and in that I was sure that he would be an amazing dad but little did I know how amazing. I had a really intense 22 hour labor with 4 hours of intense pushing that ended in a c-section. He shed tears for the first time in our 4 1/2 years together at the sight of our beautiful daughter. We named her Cassidy and to say the least she can be a trying baby. She cried a lot in the beginning and he spent nights swaddling her and pacing/bouncing back and forth in our bedroom to soothe her. He changed her diapers, cooked us dinner, cleaned the house and entertained our family in those first days when I was recovering. He works all day, comes home and takes her so I can have breaks. He is lighthearted when she cries and takes it in stride when she screams for hours. He brings a sense of humor to what could be a much more stressful situation with a cranky baby. He gets up in the middle of the night after I've nursed her and changes her diapers. He is 50/50 with everything in our life, most importantly with our daughter. I couldn't ask for a better guy to be with and am so glad I gave him my heart.

Heather LaBelle says …

Melissa says …

My Valentine is my boyfriend. He currently lives in London and is in his last year of medical school. As far apart as we are, he makes everyday special by sending me a text in the morning wishing me a good day. And every evening before he goes to bed he tells me he'll be dreaming of me. It makes the distance more bearable and makes me love him even more.

SP Senning says …

My valentine is my 2 1/2 year old son, fondly known as my little "Butternut" since the day he was born - he fills my heart with joy, love and laughter, and simply lights up my life!

Nikki says …

I love v-day. I will be @wf getting ready to prepare a feast for the family.

Priscilla Jones says …

My meat-and-potato Valentine is a special sweetie because while he is working hard to make his small grass-fed beef operation a success, he remains an openminded diner at my creatively organic adventurous table. I love to discover new foods and invent delicious recipes, so I need a guinea pig for my cooking hobby! He is willing to put his penchant for plain old meat and potatoes aside and dig in to whatever wild, healthy recipe I dream up. Because I want him to like my cooking, I challenge myself to reinvent comfort food in a nutritious way. We learn a lot from each other. Here's to openminded culinary palettes and special sweeties! Thank you Whole Foods for helping our tastefilled adventures!

Anna says …

I have 2 special valentines. One is of course, my husbaand! We have been through thick and thin, pretty and ugly! He has even trimmed my toe nails for me when I was too pregnant to do so! I love him. And my 2yr old daughter, Bella. I love waking up in morning with a hug, kiss, or a foot next to my face! I am so lucky to have them in my life =)

Kelli McCarrell says …

My valentine is so sweet - he helps me cook by chopping up all the things I can't and opening (almost) all the jars!

Allison says …

I have two Valentines: my dog (who can't eat this delightful food), and my roommate. The latter is my best friend for life-- we watch bad tv together, cook together, travel together. We'd never be together romantically (turns out we both like guys), but with someone who knows you that well, it doesn't even really matter.

Anina says …

My valentine this year is my Nonno (Grandpa). He gives so much love to all his grandkids and I feel it in every one of our conversations. I am so thankful for him everyday!

Breen says …

What makes my Valentine special? She's my mom! Now that I am a mom myself, I know how easy it is to get wrapped up in taking care of the kids first, the hubby second, the house third, and yourself...well never! Or at least never enough...I know there is mother's day to celebrate how "wonderful mom's are" - but I think it would be nice to let your mother know that she is appreciated at other unexpected times! Valentine Day's is a great time to remind her how special she is and how much she's means to you and how you recognize all the sacrifices she has made have not gone unnoticed! Think out of the box, ask your mom that important question this year - I know I am going too; "Mom, will you be my Valentine?"- no mother could resist that offer!!

maritza Botello says …

My mom is my Valentine because she sacrafized everything to give her a kids a chance at a decent life.

Suzanne Taschaekofske says …

Good friends and loved ones are commonly taken for granted until a crisis-health, financial or security. Ours was health this year, so I am especially humbled, grateful & blessed to be able to say "we survived & are on a roll for improved health and daily appreciation!". Happy Valentine's, John! You made it! Love, Suzanne

Keri says …

My valentine is my boyfriend who has been making a great effort to follow a healthy lifestyle. He will try all the recipes I make, even though some seem "too healthy" and he says he likes them, whether he is lying I don't know. He knows that being healthy is important to me so he does his best to be healthy himself and to encourage me.

Jennifer McFarland says …

Valentine's Day is a day for me to reflect on the love between my husband and I. We do not spend many special days together because my husband is active duty in the US Army. We are currently on our fourth deployment in 6 years and we miss out on spending holidays with each other. We have only spent 2 Valentines's Days together in our relationship. On this day I will take out our wedding album and watch our wedding video and think about our special day. Its a day for me to remember how strong our love is even know we are so far apart. Our daughter, who is 4, will send daddy a special card that she made for him and we send it off to Afghanistan with love.

Karen Bostaph says …

My husband is unique. My favorite thing about him is his witty way of making me laugh.

Erin says …

My husband/valentine is special because of all those little things he does every day. (Like right now, he ran to WFM to get me some avocados while I catch up on email and things.)

Cara says …

My valentine is my boyfriend of 3 years. He was the first person to start my healthy eating habits and shop at Whole Foods. I am not a fan of chocolate and don't make many desserts containing the ingredient. This would be the perfect gift for him - organic+chocolate! -Cara

Monica says …

My Valentine is my husband, and he's my partner and best friend. He's funny, super smart, and a terrific dad. From our first date 20 years ago this coming Feb 15, it's been one long, interesting conversation between us that has never gotten boring. We celebrate our love on Feb 15th, usually with a special dinner I make, because restaurant chefs are way too exhausted to cook well that day. And oh, he's also my live-in tech support. Don't know what I'd do without him!

Katya Dahmen says …

My Valentine is my love, my husband! Though he calls me "sweetie" because of my extremely sweet tooth, he is the best chocolate I've ever dreamt about!
