All Whole Foods Market customers, team members and Prime shoppers continue to be required to wear face masks while in our stores. Whole Foods Market provides face masks for those who do not have their own. All locations will continue to follow local ordinances and guidance from public health authorities.
Some locations have reopened previously closed self-serve offerings and indoor and outdoor café seating areas in compliance with local regulations. Where allowed, these areas have reopened with a combination of enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures, social distancing protocols and, in some cases, conversion from self-serve to a team member–assisted service model.
In addition to modifications to our prepared foods, self-serve and restaurant venues, we have implemented enhanced daily cleanliness and sanitation protocols across all stores and facilities, on top of our standard stringent protocols.
We are operating under social distancing guidelines in our stores and facilities, ensuring that interaction between team members and among team members and customers can happen at the recommended distance.
We have implemented crowd-control measures that limit the capacity of customers based on store size and installed spacing guidelines for lines throughout the store, including outside of the store, at the register and in departments such as Meat and Seafood.
We have installed plexiglass barriers to protect customers and team members.
All open food demos remain suspended until further notice. Where not restricted by local mandates, we have resumed some educational demos with the option to include manufactured, packaged samples.
We have increased the location and number of hand sanitizer stations available for use by shoppers and team members, including for shopping carts and checkout.
We are no longer allowing personal, reusable containers at our smoothie and coffee bars.
In order to serve more customers, we are limiting the purchase quantities of high-demand items.
