In summertime, I try to live outdoors as much as I can. From morning walks to moonlit picnics, I take full advantage of long days and warm nights.
When I’m communing with nature’s splendor, I definitely don’t want artificial fragrances to harsh my high. Body products with fake fragrances make me want to run for the shower instead of lingering longer in the great outdoors.
Luckily for me, the fine folks at Aura Cacia shared their recipe for a DIY body mist made with pure essential oils. The refreshing scent features lemon eucalyptus oil in a base of green tea. It’s the perfect spritz for hot summer days and long summer nights.
Before You Start
You will need a quart-size container with a lid and a refillable spray bottle. It also helps to have a small funnel.
1 teaspoon 365 Everyday Value® Organic White Distilled Vinegar
8 drops Aura Cacia Lemon Eucalyptus Essential oil
8 drops Aura Cacia Lavender Essential Oil
4 drops Aura Cacia Grapefruit Essential Oil
4 drops Aura Cacia Geranium Essential Oil
3 cups cool, freshly brewed green tea
4 tablespoons aloe vera gel
Place vinegar in a quart-size container with a lid. Add the essential oils and shake. Add green tea and aloe, and shake until mixed. Pour a portion of the mixture into a refillable spray bottle. Shake before each use. Store the remainder in the fridge for up to 2 years.
