Broccoli and Apple Purée
Makes about 1 1/2 cups
Time 25 min
Be sure to steam the broccoli and apple until they are very tender so you can process them into a smooth purée that will appeal to young palates.

Ingredients
- 3 cups small broccoli florets
- 1 small Gala or Fuji apple, peeled and chopped
Method
Place a steamer basket in the bottom of a medium saucepan and fill with enough water to just reach the bottom of the steamer.
Evenly spread out broccoli and apple in the basket.
Cover tightly and steam over medium heat until very tender, about 15 minutes.
Carefully transfer broccoli mixture to a food processor and puree until smooth.
The puree will keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
(Suggested age: 8 months and up)
